The ATI Nomad SGS 12-gauge is built around a tactical-length 18.5" barrel. This particular combo product includes both the SGS (single-shot shotgun) and a Survivor three-day Rukx Gear Survivor Backpack. This backpack is actually custom fit for 18.5” barrel Nomad SGS guns for the 12-gauge, 20-gauge or .410 bore. You can get it in tan, black, blue, yellow or orange.

The gun itself is immensely affordable. The single-shot architecture and simplified engineering means fewer parts, easier manufacturing and perhaps a bit more money for things like the buttstock’s design, which we’ll cover in a second. The SGS uses a break-open action, bead front sight, and the barrel backs to a 3” chamber. The forend and stock are polymer (synthetic), and there’s diamond texturing on both. The Schnabel forend’s texture surround is a simplified trapezoid while the one on the curved grip has pennant surrounds.

When this survival shotgun breaks down and folds forward nearly 160-degrees on itself, its total length drops to a bit over half of its full length and only a bit longer than its barrel.

The gun has an extractor rather than an ejector that presents spent casings to your fingertips. The buttstock’s ambidextrous raised cheek contour adds to its functionality and ups the aesthetics. You also get an external hammer and sling-swivels in front and back. The gun is Made in Turkey and then imported into the USA by ATI.

The Rukx Gear Survivor Backpack is pretty cool. Above all, it has a fully opening zipper pocket (the main pocket on top) for storing the ATI Nomad. It has various other pockets too, reinforced webbing, two white reflective strips, shoulder straps and a removable waist strap, etc.

The durable bag’s main fabric is water-resistant 600D polyester. It has non-rust zipper and pull tabs, includes an exterior drink pouch and measures 20” x 11” x 10”.
