The Rock Island Armory (RIA) AL3.1 is a stainless steel frame/black rubber grip 6-round .357 Magnum caliber revolver. In fact, it’s essentially the same gun as the RIA AL3.0 except that has a blued finish paired with the same black rubber grip.

The AL3.1’s fairly compact dimensions make it great for concealed carry. The 2” long barrel has a 1 to 17.9” RH twist and even a barrel shroud to help safeguard against accidental burns. The barrel is contained within a frame plus package combination that is 6.75” long, 4.09” tall and 1.50” wide across the fluted cylinder. Unloaded weight is a neat 1.5 pounds, which jumps to 1.72 pounds fully loaded.

Sighting is done via a fixed long front ramp sight and a fixed gutter rear sight.

Single-action trigger pull is 4 to 6.5 pounds while double-action pull rises to 11.5 to 13 pounds.

The revolver has safety and design features to guarantee safety whether there are impurities in the cylinder, etc. The gun also has a drop safety.

The trigger is curved and sits in an egg-shaped trigger guard.
