Description for Item # 139816607
This is something that you only see for sale on a very, very, very rare occasion!
This gun is an Egyptian Steyr Maadi AKM, which is documented and certified to have been used in the classic movie Red Dawn. I purchased this rifle many, many years ago directly from 'Long Mountain Outfitters', who in turn had purchased it from 'Stembridge Movie Rentals'. It is very possible that this gun and other Maadi's like it were used in some other movies and TV shows, such as 'Rambo III' and 'Tour Of Duty'. Rambo III rented from Stembridge in the later parts of filming the movie. Also, in the later seasons of Tour Of Duty, many Maadi's were seen being used by the NVA.
Here are some links to reference material for the above.

This gun is shown with a Soviet AKM stock set, which was captured by Israel from the 'PLO'. The grip has Arabic writing on it and a rack number as well. This stock set comes with the gun, along with the original stock set used on it in Red Dawn. This rifle has ties in both political, movie, and cultural history!
As I have time, I will be adding more images of the certificate of authenticity that comes with the rifle, the serial number for cross reference check, and a image of the original stock set.
I will also be adding another auction or two, so keep checking back!
ATTENTION! Please Read Before Bidding
* Rifle will not be sold to states that cannot have them!
* Shipping from a private individual to your confirmed FFL dealer only. You must confirm with your FFL if they accept transfers from private individuals. If not, then I can ship from my FFL, but that will incur an additional $25 charge that my FFL will charge me and you will have to cover that.
* Forms of payment accepted are: USPS Money Order (must be sent via USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation no later than 2 days of auction close). Other option is Pay Pal +4%.
* Rifle will be packaged very well and by default shipped via UPS 'Second Day Air'. If you prefer 'Overnight', please tell me. Please specify the amount of insurance you want on the rifle. S&H and insurance amounts will be adjusted then to suit your needs.

* Added image of the serial number.
* Added image of the original stock set, which is on another Maadi in the image.
* Added image of the pistol grip, which is a custom part made by Stembridge during the filming of the movie. The original grip was broken during filming and back then replacement parts were almost impossible to find, so they had to pull molds off parts to make replacements from. In the image is also the inventory tags for the rifle.
* Added image of the certificate of authenticity from Stembridge.

***There are no internal threads in the barrel for a BFA. Stembridge used an external BFA device. The barrel and slant brake are standard Steyr ones. The gun functions perfectly and correctly. ***The outside of the gun was ruffed up some to be used in the movie and also got some wear from the movie, but the inside is normal. This gun may appear to be abused, but it has not been. There are no dents or damage of that nature, only paint wear from use in the movie. I also doubt on the set that they had a bump fire contest with it either (LOL!) ;) Just normal shooting and normal wear.
