Rose Action Sports – Licensed Gunsmith
Quality Gunsmithing for the 18th to 21st Century
This auction is for machining your 12 or 20 gauge pump, semi-auto or single shot shotgun barrel to accept screw-in chokes. Also included are 3 choke tubes (Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full). These tubes are suitable for both lead and steel shot (except lead only in Thinwall tubes). We use top quality piloted reamers and taps powered by a precision lathe to ensure a straight, tight fit in your barrel.
In 12 gauge you can chose from the Rem-Choke, Win-choke (interchangeable with Browning Invector and Mossberg Accu-choke), Tru-Choke or Tru-Choke "Thinwall" style of choke tubes. 20 gauge tubes are available in the Tru-Choke style.
We can also cut and crown your barrel (within legal limits), install a new sight bead, and lengthen and polish the forcing cone (12 ga only) while we have it in the shop. Contact us prior to sending in your barrel for details.

The Fine Print
Adequate barrel wall thickness is required for safe installation of screw-in chokes. While the vast majority of today's shotgun barrels are more than thick enough we occasionally encounter a barrel that is too thin to safely machine. To ensure that your barrel is of adequate thickness for your choice of choke tube simply measure the outside diameter of the barrel at the muzzle with a caliper or micrometer. 12 gauge barrels must be at least .845" to accept Rem-choke and Win/Browning/Mossberg chokes, at least .825" for the Tru-Choke tube or at least .805" for Tru-Choke "Thinwall" tubes. 20 Gauge barrels must measure a minimum of .705" for the Tru-Choke tubes.
Maximum bore diameters also apply, although this is rarely an issue unless the barrel has been altered by back boring or jug choking. I will take precise measurements of each aspect of your barrel to ensure safe installation.
