Description for Item # 329210925

This is a Remington Model 11-48 made in December of 1952, which is the first year the 11-48 was made in 28 gauge. The barrel date code is X YY - December 1952. These actually started at serial number 4,000,000 and this one is the 6306 produced. The barrel is numbered to the gun, and on the other side has several other numbers that were punched out or overlined. The barrel is 25in with a modified choke. The stock has NO CRACKS or splits, just handling marks. This one has been shot, but is in exceptional condition. There are only two issues. One, the prior owner stored it in a foam case, so it has light spots of surface rust, and two, the bore has some wad fouling. I've made no attempt to get zealous with the bore as it shoots great so hoppes/brass brush is all it sees, it may clean out. This one is a sweet shooting 28 and a very nice example of a very early Remington. Any questions, please ask. C&R or 01 FFL fine.
