"FREE=SHIPPING" ! This is Not a Model 60 ! The Model 64 and The 60 Ran Together as When Smith Had Introduced Both Models ! This One is Among Those Made That is Stamped "64" ! This Model Was Made With The "Full Endurance Package" And Does In Fact Possess The New Yoke Retention System ! "TOUGH AND PRETTY" Little Super Carry Revolver ! Comes With A Smith and Wesson Box, Not The Original But Has The Factory Wrapping Paper and Other Items of Interest ! Two Grips Come With This "Superior Undercover Designed" ("DOUBLE ACTION ONLY") Revolver ! The Original Grips and Another Brand of Grips (Both Rubber) Are For Your Choice in Carrying ! The Original Grips Are a "Bit Longer" and The Other Grips Are A "Bit Thicker" Also Great For Self Defense ! This Model has To Be Mentioned in Both The Model 64 and The Model 60 Because Both Were Made Specifically at The Same Time For The "New York City Police Models" As So Noted In The Smith Manual and Their Associated History ! More "Details" of This Revolver in another Addendum ! However, I'll Get The First Photos Up and Get The "BEST LAY AWAY PLAN ON THE GUNBROKER WEBSITE" Listed in The Next Paragraph Right Below This One ! A Wood Grip is "Displayed" With This Revolver and For All Practical Purposes -- You Are Welcome To Having it as Merely a "GIFT" ! However, These Round Butt Conversion Grips are Somewhat an "OVERKILL" For This Revolver and Would Work "WONDERS" On A "Long Barreled" Model 60,64 -- "Any J Frame" ! This is One of My Wood Grips From My Collection of Smith Grips (ACE Grip Company), Formerly Smith and Wesson Grip Company and Were Last Made in The Year of 1993 ! You're Welcome to These For Some of Your Longer Barreled "J" Frames -- "ENJOY THEM" ! That will Be Explained As Well ! Revolver is Extremely Pretty and Has A Natural Shine as Stated In The Smith Model 64 "NYC" ! That'll Need Further Elaboration in another Technical Information Addendum ! Serial Number is "BRY5006" and is Actually A 1994 Make and Model ! That Will All Be Explained ! Revoler is in "Super" Condition and Not Shot Hardly At All ! "SHE'S A BEAUTY" and The Cylinder is
"TIGHTER THAN A TICK ON A HOUND DOG" ! Thanks For Viewing ! Respectively ! Jim Akers (Weapons Specialist Retired US Army) & (Rep - Grip Designer Badger Custom Grips,LLC) !
| [Information added 2/13/2013 11:10:16 PM] | | PAYMENT METHODS: (A) Lay Away Plan - Merely Pay $150 Up Front and The Remaining Pennies Within a "GUARANTEED" (4 Month - 120 Day Plan) ! "NEAT=HUH" ! Better Yet, You are The One That Decides When and What Amount of Your Well Earned Pennies That You Desire To Apply Towards Your Own Balance ! ("Only You - Not Me") ! (B) Personal Check - "Why Certainly" - And This "Beauty" Will Ship Immediately Even Without A Silly Waiting Period ! "GETTING MORE NEATER BY THE MINUTE = HUH" ! (C) Credit Cards (All and Any) at Only 2% of the Total ! OR (D) Bank or Money Order ! Any Method is Fine and "OK" With This Retired Soldier ! Shipping is Professional From My Local Favorite FFL Dealer to Your Hometown Gun Shop (FFL Dealer) ! No Hassels Gents, "SMOOTH AS SILK AND LEGAL AS EAGLES" ! Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is The Actual Cost ! However, "FREE SHIPPING AND FREE INSURANCE COVERAGE" anywhere else in the US of A ! That Also Includes Those "Avid" California Shooters and Collectors As Well ! California is "OK TO GO" ! My Personal Lay Away Plan is Specifically Designed For The "EASSSSSSSSSSSE of PAYMENTS" For Those Citizens Wishing To Own A "Super" Firearm For "Fun With Shooting" or For "MARVELOUS SELF DEFENSE AGAINST THOSE EVIL INTENTION DOERS THAT DEEM YOU OR YOUR FAMILY BODILY HARM" ! Afterall, Purchasing a New Firearm Should "ALWAYS" Be An Enjoyable Event and "Definitely" Not A Hardship For Any Individual ! This Soldier "MAKES THAT HAPPEN" For Those Individuals ! This Lay Away Plan is As "SOLID" As This 1994 Model 64, No Changes, No Extra Fees, No Tricks, No Last Minute Pennies = "NOTHING GENTS" = Except a Good Old Fashioned Gun Buy ! If You're Looking For A "SUPER" == Better Yet, A "SUPERIOR CARRY CONCEAL CHAMPION CONTENDER" That Will Get The Job Done ("And This Silvered Rascal Ain't No Light Weight") -- Well Gents, "THIS ONE WILL FIT THE BILL" ! More Later and (Lots and Lots) of Photos To Post ! Thanks For Viewing ! Respectively ! Jim Akers (Weapons Specialist Retired US Army) & (Rep - Grip Designer Badger Custom Grips,LLC) ! |
| [Information added 2/14/2013 8:59:13 PM] | | TECHNICAL INFORMATION: Gents, This is Not a "Lightweight" Revolver ! This is The "NYC" (Model 64 NY-1) Which Was The "First" Fully Stainless Steel Model Ran For The New York City Police ! It Was Ran "After" The (Model 60 NY-1) Which Did In Fact Start Off With The "Lightweight" Revolver Styles Only ! Some (Identification Standards) Say That The Model "64 NY-1" Was Manufactured and Distributed For The New York City Police "Only" -- "BEFORE" The "60 NY-1" Which in Fact Was A Lightweight -- However, This is a "DISCREPANCY" ! I'll Add That Information To Follow in The "Line of Distribution" To The New York City Police "Only" and Then How They Became "Extinct" After Changes From The (Police Department) Phased Them Out From Their Purchares From The Smith and Wesson Factory ! The New York City Police Department Did Not Phase Them Out Because of Their "INHERENT USEFULLNESS" (Which Were Superior) -- But Were Phased Out Because of The "RISE OF THE 9MM CARTRIDGE" in Automatic Weapontry ! But For All Practical Purposes, If They had In Those Years The "HORNADY" FTX Critical Defense .38 Special, I Don't Think That Would Had Happened ! They Would Have "Kept" The More Versatile Undercover Conceal and Carry (This Double Action Revolver) With "DYNAMITE STATISTICAL POWER" ! More Technical Information Later ! For Now == "THIS IS NO LIGHTWEIGHT" == "THIS IS A COMPLETE (ALL THE WAY AROUND) FULLY STAINLESS STEEL MODEL" With "Undoutedly" The Genuine Issued Combat Smooth "Pure Carbon Steel" Trigger ! The Trigger ("ITSELF") Also Will Assist You in Identifying The Year ! This Will Not Confuse You On The Make of This Model With The "NEW AND FULL YOKE RETENTION SYSTEM" (Radius Stud Package) ! For it is in Fact, Some of The "Very Last" Runs of The "B" Series and This Came About in The Year of 1994 ! These Were Made To Be Sold "Exclusively" To The Police Department ! The Finish and The "Makeup" of This Revolver's History Merely Followed What Was Requested Thru The NYC Police Department ! This Was One of The "MOST TROUBLE FREE" Double Action Revolvers Ever Produced By The Smith and Wesson Factory ! They Were More Durable, They Were More "Weighty", They Did in Fact Possess All "Engineering Changes" Designed For Full Combat Usuage ! This Style of Revolver "WOULD NOT NEED TO MAKE ANY UNNECESSARY TRIPS BACK TO THE SMITH FACTORY FOR REPAIRS" ! It Was Already "SET UP" For Maximum Shooting ("WITH ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE") ! More Interesting Explanations Later ! Respectively ! Jim Akers (Weapons Specialist Retired US Army) ! |
| [Information added 2/14/2013 9:09:02 PM] | | NOTE: It is Very Easy To Distinguish Because of This Revolver's Condition = That This Model 64 Has "Very" Few Rounds Shot During Her Livelyhood Since Distribution ! Probally, No More Than 10 Rounds (Even If That) ! And Certainly -- Not Carried Much "EITHER" Because of Her Very-Very Brightish Excellent Finish ! This Revolver Does Not have Scratches, Dings, Dents, -- You Know -- Those Annoying Marks ! The "Flash" of The Camers on The "Indoor" Photos Can Display Different Colors == But Rest Assurred That She is A "PRETTY" Stainless Steel Finish ! This is a 5 Shot Revolver -- Also, Meaning That She is "HEFTIER" in The Cylinder Area Which Entails A "STOUGHT AND SOLID" Top Knotch Superior Conceal and Carry Champion Contender ! Regards ! Jim Akers (Weapons Specialist Retired US Army) ! |
| [Information added 2/14/2013 9:15:30 PM] | | NOTE: Also, Very Important "Tell-Tell" Sign of The Year (1994) is The Fact That This Undercover "CHAMPION" Does Not have a Pinned Barrel ! The Pinned Barrel on The Model 64 Was Deleted "Years & Years" Earlier Well Before (1988) ! No Pinned Barrel Revolvers Have Been "EVER" listed With The "New Yoke Retention System" In Smith and Wesson's History ! Just Try and Find A Pinned Barrel Revolver (Any Barrel Length) With The "RADIUS STUD PACKAGE" and The "NEW YOKE RETENTION SYSTEM" ========= (Never Happened Gents - NO WAY) ! That is Merely A Natural and Common Thing "Well Known" About Smith Revolvers History "MAKEUP" ! Regards ! Jim (Rt. US Army) ! |
| [Information added 2/15/2013 3:13:20 AM] | | AMMUNITION NOTE: My Hornady Chart and the Box of Ammunition does Not Come With This Revolver ! They are Used For "Display" Purposes Only == For, Tomorrow Night == I Will Explain "VERY CLEARLY" Just Why This Revolver is "NOW" in this "New Day and Generation Ammunition" That Changed History For "ALL SMITH AND WESSON 38 SPECIAL REVOLVERS AND EVEN BETTER -- THE 357 MAGNUM REVOLVERS AS WELL" ! Regards ! Jim Akers (Weapons Specialist Retired US Army) ! |
| [Information added 2/16/2013 12:35:17 AM] | | AMMUNITION NOTE: The Ammunition Shown Below in The Photos Just Happens To Be "THE 38 SPECIAL THAT CHANGED HISTORY" For Most All Revolvers ! Read The Side of The Box ! Gents, This is A (110 Grain) Count for This "Rifle Designed" Professional Hollow Point ! Unlike Other "Hollow Points", The Hornady Pro's Designed This One For "SPEED AND DEVASTATION" ! By Reading The Side of The Box, You'll Notice That This Round has a "Muzzle Velocity" of 1,175 FPS == "INCREDIBEL" ! Now Gents, Where I Come From, That is Only 125 FPS "Shy" of A Winchester Partition Gold (185 Grain - Hollow Point) That has a "Muzzle Velocity" of 1,300 FPS ! Now == The Above Mentioned "Muzzle Velocity" of The Hornady "FTX" Critical Defense -- You Already Know "SPITS" out of This Model 64 at 1,175 FPS ! Better Yet, That Same Projectile at 50 Yards is Still Traveling At 1,036 FPS ! Even Better, Better Yet (For All Practical Purposes), at 100 Yards "Still" That Same Projectile is Traveling Right At 1,000 FPS ! Now, Don't Tell Me That You're Going To Need To Shoot Any "EVIL INTENTION DOERS AT 100 YARDS", Because Both You and I Know That You Are Not ! However, The "Muzzle Velocity" is So "CRIPPLING AND DISMANTLING" That Any Bad and Evil Intention Doers (2 Legged Critters) that Gets Hit With This Round will "BE IN DIRE NEED FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION QUICKLY, OR A FAST TRIP TO THE MORGUE" ! The Other Great Part Concerning The "Hornady" Critical Defense "FTX" (Rifle Designed) Hollow Point is How "Very-Very" Clean it is on Left Over Powder Residue ! Cleanest I've Ever Used ! The Most Amazing Thing About This "CARTRIDGE" is What happens When It Hits It's Intended Target ! "THIS IS ONE MEAN=MEAN MEAT GRINDING RASCAL OF THE FIRST ORDER" ! Yes, It is a "ONE SHOT STOPPER" and A Backwoods, Or a Back Alley "DOG GONE CRIPPLING HOLLOW POINT" That Will "MORE" That Get The Job Done ! In Other Words, "IT WILL TURN A BAD SITUATION GOOD, VERY-VERY FAST" ! Another "Extremely" Notable Fact Concerning This Cartridge is That It has "Less Kick" Making This Revolver More Manageable For Combat Use and "Ready" For The Next Double Action Round ! Another and Another "VERY EXTREMELY" Notable (++"PLUS"++) For This Cartridge is That With The (110 Grain Count) and Less Kick Than That of A 357 Magnum or Even a "Higher" Count Grained 38 Special +P == Is, The Fact That This Hollow Point Has Less Impact on The "INTERNAL WORKING MECHANISMS" of Your Revolver ! I have This Ammunition Stored All Over and Around My Homestead and Even Use it in My 357 Magnums ! An Example of This Round == == ! One Day, I Took My 357 Magnum to The Backwoods with an Old Paint Can and There Was Some Paint Inside ! I Shot it Dead Center at 10 Yards -- And "I ACTUALLY THOUGHT A BOMB WENT OFF UNDER THAT PAINT CAN" ! This Round Completely "Disfigured" The Can and I Thought it Was Christmas, Because Paint Was "ALL OVER THE SURROUNDING BUSHES" ! What Does This All Mean ! Simple Answer Gents ! If They had this Hornady Critical Defense "FTX" Cartridge in The 1970's, 1980's or Even The 1990's -- Then, More Than Likely The Choice of Law Enforcement Carrying The 38 Special Revolvers Just Might Had Been Their "Respective Choice" ! Afterall, Everyone and Their Dog Kept Complaining About How The 1970 Revolvers Were Not Designed To Handle The 357 Magnum Loads ! But, The 1970 Models Would Now Had "SEEN HISTORY CHANGE" and That History Took Place in and Around The Year 2007 - 2009 ! Henceforth, You Might As Well Say, That This Model (1994) Pure Stainless Steel 38 Special Possesses The "Very Same" Traits As Carrying A 357 Magnum With The "MILDEST KICK" and "REACCLAMATION SHOOTING" (Now) on The Market ! I Bet The New York City Police Department Would Not Had Chosen To Go To The 9mm's == If, This Cartridge Had Been Around ! Gents, With This Muzzle Velocity, and What I have Seen With My Own Eyes == I'd Feel Comfortable Even in The High Mountainous Back Country ! If Confronted By A "MEAN" 4 Legged Critter and If "BY SOME MEANS ATTACKED TO HARM ME", I'd Merely Get a "FACIAL SHOT" of Up Close and Personal -- And -- I Would Venture To Say That That "Mean Critter" Would Get His Front Teeth "BLOWN ALL THE WAY BACK INTO HIS SKULL" ! My Reasoning is Simple ! The "Historical Amazing" Factor Following This "FTX" Critical Defense Cartridge is What Happens When It Does In Fact Come Into Contact With It's Target ! "DEMOMIC DEVASTATION" To Say The Least ! Henceforth, Now == "REST ASSURRED THAT ANY UNINVITED 2 LEGGED CRITTERS THAT SHOULD INVADE THE PRIVACY OF YOUR HOME" -- Have a "BAD-BAD SURPRIZE THAT AWAITS THEIR FATE" ! Henceforth, Again -- I'll Easily Consider This Model (Pure Stainless Steel) New York City 64-NY"1" To Be One of The Most "Dependable and Usefull" Sneek and Peek Champion Carry Guns of All Time ! Hey Gents, They'll Never Even See This One Coming, Nor Will They Even Know She's With You ! Georgeous Revolver and Now -- The Best Ammuntion Follows Her With "SURE ONE SHOT STOPPING POWER" ! A Self Defense "CHAMPION" and Better Yet -- "SHE'S PRETTY TOO BOOT" ! Thanks for Viewing ! Respecively ! Jim Akers (Weapons Specialist Retired US Army) & (Rep - Grip Designer Badger Custom Grips,LLC) ! |
| [Information added 2/16/2013 12:44:33 AM] | | TECHNICAL NOTE: Look at Photo #9 ! Do You See The Cylinder "Release Tab" ? This Was The Last Year (1994) That This Tab Was Used ! In The 1995 Models, Smith Used A Different Tab (Cylinder Release Tab) Modified And Streamlined But Was used With The Same Material For the MIM Triggers and Hammers ! The 1994 Model (This One) Was Pure Stainless Steel and The Last Run of This Style Tab ! Regards ! Jim ! (Rt. US Army) ! |
| [Information added 2/17/2013 3:30:48 AM] | | GRIP NOTE: Photo #4 is the Original Grips That Came With This Revolver Distributed By S&W in 1994 (An "Uncle Mike" Contract With The Smith and Wesson Company) -- "Good Choice" ! The Other Rubber Grip (Naturally) is a "J" Frame Round Butt Pachmayer "Just a Tid Bit Thicker" -- And Naturally A "Good" Aftermarket Grip ! The Orignal Grips Are ("To Me") Lengthier and Better Ergonomically ! Probally Tomorrow, I'll Show You A Set of Grips on This "SILVERED RASCAL" That are Not Only "PRETTY" But Dog Gone Useful as They Come ! Surprise - Surprise ! I'm Still Pondering Over Whether or Not To Give Them as a "GIFT" -- Don't Know if I Want to Share Them Yet "WITH THE WORLD" ! Very-Very Rare and Collectible "Boot J Frame" Grips From My Grip Collection ! "PLEASE ALLOW ME TO PONDER FOR AWHILE" ! Afterall, there is an Old Saying and I Never Want You To Forget it, "BECAUSE IT IS TRUE" -- In Many Ways and More Ways That You Could "DREAM UP" ! That "Old Saying" is ========== "GRIPS CAN MAKE A GUN" ! Fact Gents, "Not Fiction" ! Regards ! Jim (Rt. US Army) ! |
| [Information added 2/17/2013 3:44:52 AM] | | ANOTHER GRIP NOTE: The Wood "Camo Lamo" Grips From "ACE GRIP COMPANY" Are Certainly a "Gift" and You're Welcome To Have Them ! They Are "Pretty", But As Stated Before -- They Are an "OVERKILL" and an "OVEREXAGERATION" For This "Sneek and Peek" Champion Undercover "CRIPPLER" ! These Extra Free Wood Grips (I Love Very Much) -- but -- They Only "Compliment" Longer Barrelled "J" Frame Revolvers with the Round Butt ! They Would Be "Miraculous" on A J Frame Round Butt 38 Special or a 22 Magnum with Either a 4", 5" or a 6" Barrel ! They Are Square Butt "Exclusively" Converted To The Round Butt "FIT" For Any J Frame on Any Smith and Wesson Revolver ! They "ARE MADE AND DESINGNED TO FIT LIKE A GLOVE" ! They Are "Mint" and I still have the Original Box == We'll Merely Need For You to Acquire a 4" To a 6" round Butt J Frame For Them To Be "A PERFECT UNIQUE AND MARVELOUS SET OF ERGONOMIC USE" without an "Over Exaggerated" Look With A 2" Barreled Undercover "SILVERED CHAMPION" Like this Model 64 (NYC Police "NYC - 64#1) ! Regards ! Jim (Rep - Grip Designer Badger Custom Grips,LLC) ! |
| [Information added 2/18/2013 1:51:38 AM] | | TECNICAL NOTE: For The Time Being, I'm Going To Share This "INFORMATION" With You ! Someone sent an email asking Me if This Revolver Was a Model 640 (Smith Revolver) Instead of of Model 64 ! Very Normal and "Understanding" Question -- Very Normal ! However Gents, "NO WAY" ! This is a Model 64 (1994) "Rare Run" For the NYC (Police Undercover and Detective Units) ! I have Taken A "High Powered" Flashlight and One of The "MOST" Strongest "Close Up" Magnifying Glasses (Best Type Their Is) and Have Specifically Checked The Model Number -- "NOW OVER A DOZEN TIMES" ! Yes, It is a Model 64 Smith == AND == Yes, It is The "BRY" Serial Prefix == AND == Yes, It Does Have The "Full Endurance Package", The "Radius Stud Package", The Last Styled Fully Stainless Steel Cylinder Release Tab Made To This Model Before 1995 == AND == Yes, It has That Conversion Trigger (PURE CARBON STEEL) That Smith Converted To After The "Full Stainless Steel" Triggers And Hammers (That Were Prevalent) When Smith Started Running "MOSTLY" -- (When I Say Mostly - Meaning With The Full Endurance Package Introduced in the Year 1988 and Were Used To The Year 1994) ! The MIM Triggers and Hammers Followed The "Pure Carbon Steel" Styles in 1995-1996 ! The Trigger on this "Rare Run" "SILVERED CRIPPLER - MODEL 64", is a "Smooth" Case Colored Pure Carbon Steel -- And -- The Hammer ("Which You Cannot See is Pure Carbon Steel as Well") ! Once You "Study" Triggers and Hammers, It Will Be Very Easily For You To Understand The "Various" Engineering Changes The Smith Pro's Probe Into During The Mid 1990's ! Just So That You Will Become Aware (As You Probally Already Are) == Smith and Wesson Made More "ENGINEERING CHANGES" To Their Revolvers in The 1990 Decade ! The Most Number of Changes Came From The Years of Around (1992 - 1999) ! Also, "Historically", It Would Be Very Easy To Say That Smith and Wesson Probally Made "MORE ENGINEERING" Changes To Their Revolvers in The (1990 DECADE) During Their Entire "HISTORY" ! Why Did They Make More Engineering Changes During The 1990 Decade ? Simple Answer ! Gun Manufacturers Were Expanding Their Line of Revolvers In Many Ways ! The Smith Factory Started "UPDATING" The "STRENGTH" and The "FLEXIBILITY" of Their Revolvers To Maintain "TOTAL COMPETENCY" over Their Reputation as "ONE OR THE BEST GUN MANUFACTURER" on The National and International Market ! Smith -- As You May Say -- "STUCK TO THEIR GUNS" and Still Today Have Some of The Most Unique Revolvers Ever To Be Distributed For "DEPENDABILITY AND USEFULLNESS" ! More Later ! Jim Akers (Weapons Specialist Retired US Army) ! |
| [Information added 2/18/2013 1:58:52 AM] | | TECHNICAL NOTE: By The Way, This Trigger on This Revolver is Stated To Be a "WIDE SMOOTH COMBAT CASE COLORED" Trigger Style ! According To Smith's Writings and Information on This Revolver's Trigger, It Was Designed "Wide" and Made For Combat Usuage as You Would Find "Necessary" For A Position Such As a Police "Undercover" Styled Revolver and/or a Detective Special That Would Prove "HANDY" During Those Respective Years in The City of New York ! Regards ! Jim (Rt. US Army) ! |
| [Information added 2/18/2013 2:03:28 AM] | | TECHNICAL NOTE: Take "Close Notice" in The Photos -- You'll See This (Photo # 8) ! This 1994 Full Stainless Revolver has The "ALL SOUGHT AFTER" Slightly "Beveled" Cylinder (Between Flutes) That Makes This Revolver "MORE SUITABLE AND DESIRABLE" For "Very Smooth and Useful" Carrying and Very-Very Desireable Combat Quick Acclamation ! The Truth Be Told, The "Beveled" Cylinder Still Continues The "Very Light" Beveling "EVEN ON THE FLUTE" Itself ! The Only Difference is That The "Beveling is A Thick Bevel" Between The Flutes -- But If You Inspect Closely -- You'll Clearly See That The "Beveling" Continues On "Right into The Flute Area" Itself ! It Just A "Micrometer Measurement" Thinner Than The Bevel Portion of The Front and Formost "Prevalent" Area of The Forward Cylinder Where it is Needed The "MOST" ! Get Yourself Close To The Computer Because This Can "Really" Be Seen As Well in Photo #23 ! Regards ! Jim (Rt. US Army) ! |
| [Information added 2/23/2013 2:07:42 AM] | | TECHNICAL NOTE: I need To Explain Something that is Quite Important and "IMPRESSING" Concerning This Revolver's Double Action Trigger Pull ! First of All, "DO YOU, OR -- ARE YOU AWARE OF WHAT IS MOST COMMONLY CALLED A PERFORMANCE TRIGGER PULL" ? If So Good ! If Not, Let Me Briefly Explain ! A "PERFORMANCE CENTER" Pull has Characteristical Traits That "SETS IN BEFORE THE HAMMER ACTUALLY DROPS" ! This Revolver Specifically Possesses That Trait ! I Was Questioned By An Email Concerning The Trigger Pull of This Revolver ! My Answer is Simple -- "It is Not To Lite" -- Nor -- "It is Not To Heavy" ! It is A "PERFECTLY" Adequate "Good Feeling" Combat Useful Trigger Pull ! When the 64 (NYC-1) Was Perfected It had a "Performance Center" Trigger Pull ! This Simply Means That When Pulling The Trigger "IT SETS ITSELF IN (and You Can Feel That Set-In) JUST OVER HALF WAY BACK" ! This is An Added "VERY SUCCESSFUL" Implementation of The Smith Factory That Insures The Handler of This Revolver The "SAFETY FACTOR" As Well As Knowing When Your Revolver's Hammer Will "ACTUALLY BE READY TO FALL" To Discharge The Cartridge in the Weapon and Hit It's Intended Victim (And/Or Target) ! Many Performance Center Models Now Days Possess This Trait and I "LOVE 'EM" ! Even Though This is a "Single Action" Only Revolver, I Consider It One of The "BEST MADE IN SMITH'S HISTORY" ! I Do Not Think That The New York City Department Would Have Requested This Carry Revolver Unless It Was of a "SUPERB QUALITY" ! I Like this One Over All of The 64 (NYC-1's) Double Action Revolver Because it is Pure Stainless Steel and Not A "LIGHTWEIGHT" ! The Extra Amount of Weight Gives You More of A Sense a "RELIABLILTY" of This Conceal and Carry "PERFECT UNDERCOVER CRIPPLER" ! Better Yet, It Handles The Hornady "FTX" Critcal Defense (110 Grain Count) With The "SPENDOR OF EASE" ! I Would "EASILY" Go Out on A "LIMB" and Say That This Model is Probally One of The Most "DEPENDABLE, USEFUL AND PRETTY" Carry Weapons Ever Devised By Smith ! Also Gents, When I Say that This Revolver is "PRETTY", I Mean "JUST THAT" ! Here Distinguished Factory Hi-Polish Separates Her From The Other Models That I Know of The Same Variation ! However, Keep In Mind, That There Were "Very Few" Variations in The Model (64 NYC-1) To Ever Be Manufactured and Distributed ! She's A "DREAM CARRY REVOLVER" -- One That Will Have "EVERYTHING" That You Need In Self Defense and Believe it Or Not -- "SOUND GOOD PIN POINT SHOOTING UP TO AN AVERAGE OF ANYWHERE FROM 10 TO 18 YARDS" ! If You Have Excellent "HAND STEADY SKILLS" and "SUPERB BREATHING SKILLS" upon Dropping The Hammer, I Would Even Venture To Say (20 t 25 Yards) ! I Still Haven't Decided Whether or Not To Put That "Very Rare" Boot Grip (Very Pretty) on this Revolver or The Other Revolver That I have "RIGHT BESIDE" This One on Auction and that is The Smith and Wesson Model 60-7 ! I Believe that I want to Share that Grip as A "GIFT" With The World Because I have Such a "VERY-VERY LARGE COLLECTION" of Rare Grips For The Smith Revolvers ! I'll Try This Grip on Both Revolvers and Make My Decision on Which One I Truly Think That Will "CREATE MORE IDENTITY AND ERGONOMIC EXCELLENCE" ! Afterall, I am a "Rep - Grip Designer" For Badger Custom Grips,LLC and I Know Grips "ERGONOMIC EFFICENTCY" Very Well After 25 Years ! Now Look in The Paragraph Below and I'll Explain The Numbers of These Models Made For The 64 (NYC-1) -- The Model 60-7 (NYC-1) and Their Numbers Made and How They Came From Smith To The NYC Department and Then How They Were Resold To The Public ! Thanks for Viewing ! Jim Akers (Rep - Grip Designer Badger Custom Grips,LLC) ! |
| [Information added 2/23/2013 2:55:44 AM] | | TECHNICAL NOTE: Let's Be Brief as Possible = Huh ! Among the (5) Variations of the Model 64 (NYC-1) Their are Several "Minor" Variations ! The Most Obvious Variation is in The Finish ! The First Models (Like This One) had A Stainless Finish Like This One (Which was lightly Brushed) Yet, It Still Had A Pretty Shine ! In later Finishes, This Model Went To a More "Frosted" Stainless Finish For Usage the NYC Police Department Figure in For Times Used, That it Might Hold Up better During Combat Situations ! ("I PERSONALLY FEEL THE OPPOSITE") ! I Prefer "DEFINTELY THE HIGHER POLISHED ONE LIKE THIS MODEL" ! However, "THAT IS MY PREFERENCE ONLY, BECAUSE I JUST HAPPEN TO LIKE VERY PRETTY CARRY GUNS" ! The Frosted Stainless finish is Somewhat Like the Smith and Wesson "Lady Smith" Model 60L or The Model 65L (Which My Wife Actually Carries For Self Defense The 65L "Lady Smith" With The 3" Barrel) -- Naturally, Having 25 Years Experience in "Metallurgy", I've Already "Hi Polished" Her 3" Lady Smith For Her ! The 3" Barreled Revolvers Use To Be My "CUP OF TEA" But No Longer As I've Mostly Changed To The More "Hidden and Useful" Snubbies With The 2" Barrel ! Concerning This Model 64 (NYC-1), The Most Common Barrel Lengths That Were Produced Were the 4" (Square Butt) Which A Total of 2,469 Were Made. This Was Quickly Followed By The Model 64 (NYC-1) 4" "ROUND BUTT" Which a Total of 932 Were Made. Then, There Was The 64 (NYC-1) 3" Barrel "ROUND BUTT" With 516 Made; The 64 (NYC-1) 2" ("THIS REVOLVER BEING AUCTIONED") Sported The 2" "ROUND BUTT" With A Total of 478 Made ! Keep In Mind After The Above Statistics, That There Were An Additional 1,013 (NYC-1's) Made For Which "NO" Information is Available as to their Configurations ! Smith's Total Estimation of The (NYC-1's) -- (Model 64) Would Stand Approximately at 5,504 Guns/Revolvers ! As Stated Above, The Guns Were "ONLY" Authorized As On-Duty Revolvers From 1987 to 1993 and Afterwards Were Discontinued To The "RISE OF THE AUTOMATIC WEAPONTRY OF THE 9MM" Cartridge -- "WHICH I FELT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED" During The History Status of These "UNDERCOVER CHAMPION CONCEAL AND CARRY CONTENDERS" ! Also, As Stated Above, The New York City Police Department Knew Nothing of This "NEW DAY AND GENERATION OF THE HORNADY FTX CRITICAL DEFENSE" (Rifle Designed Cartridge -- 110 Grain Count -- And A "FEROCIOUS VELOCITY" of 1,175 FPS) -- Natually, Being a "ONE SHOT STOPPER OF THE FIRST ORDER" ! Here is Smith and Wesson Reported History For The Model 60 (NYC-1) and The Model 64 (NYC-1) Which Both of Them Were Built With The "NEW YOKE RETENTION SYSTEM" -- Which Naturally Began in the Year of (1997-1988) ! Here it is as Stated ! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "ONE OF THE LARGEST NON-MILTARY PRODUCERS OF S&W FIREARMS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT. WHILE A VARIETY OF S&W HANDGUNS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN USED BY THE NYCPD SINCE THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY, THE MOST PREVALENT MODELS HAVE BEEN THE MILITARY & POLICE/ MODEL 10 AND THE CHIEFS SPECIAL/MODEL 36. IN 1987, THE NYCPD AMMENDED ITS REGULATION TO REQUIRE THAT ALL NEWLY PURCHASED HANDGUNS HAVE A STAINLESS STEEL FINISH AND FIRE (DOUBLE ACTION ONLY) ! THESE REGULATIONS ALONE LED TO THE ADOPTION OF THE MODEL 64 (NYC-1) AND THE MODEL 60 (NYC-1), BOTH OF WHICH WERE NON CATALOGED FACTORY VARIATIONS OF STAINLESS STEEL VERSIONS OF THE MODEL 10 AND MODEL 36" ! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That is A Quote From The "Historical Archives" Concerning This Revolver ! Later, I'll Explain Why They Had Such A "Controversy" Over The Frosted Stainless Steel Revolver Verses The Hi-Factory Polished Stainless Steel Revolver ("WHICH HAPPENS TO BE MY FAVORITE") As This One Here Up For Auction ! Thanks For Viewing ! Respectively ! Jim Akers (Weapons Specialist Retired US Army) & (Rep - Grip Finisher Badger Custom Grips,LLC) ! |
| [Information added 2/23/2013 3:07:17 AM] | | NOTE: One Small "Typing Error" ! The New Yoke Retention System Was Prevalent in The Years Of These First Revolvers in (1987 - 1994) ! Naturally, They Still Were Incorporated into the Smith Revolvers -- "JUST OTHER ADDITIONAL CHANGES WERE MADE AND ADDED TO SMITH REVOLVERS" ! Regards ! Jim (Rt. US Army) ! |
| [Information added 2/26/2013 3:23:08 AM] | | VERY IMPORTANT TECHNICAL NOTE: This Model 64 (NYC-1) Compared To My Other Auction of The Model 60-7 is Of "Interesting" Facts That May Assist You in Making Your Decision ! Both of These Revolvers Both The 60 and The 64 Smith (2" Barrels) are in "MIRACULOUS GEORGEOUS MINT CONDITION" -- They Are Both "PRETTIER THAN A PROM QUEEN == AND == BETTER YET, THERE AIN'T AS MUCH AS A FRECKLE ON EITHER OF THEM" -- Just Dog Gone "Down Right" Beautiful and Extremely Clean Revolvers -- "Both Are Exceptionally Tight in The Cylinder Itself and Naturally, "BOTH ARE EXTREMELY ROCK SOLID" ! "TOUGH DECISION" ! However, You'll Need To Know Their "WEIGHTS" in Order To Specifically Design Your Carry Gun and "HOW YOU DESIRE TO USE IT AND CARRY IT" ! The Model 60 (After Researching The Final Dash Number) Does in Fact Weigh in a a Solid (20 Ounces) Even -- This Fact Is Definitely "Verified" ! However, The Model 64 (NYC-1) Weighs in At (30 Ounces) Even ! Both are 2" Barrels, Yet There Are Some Very Slight Differences That Can Explain Their Respective Weights ! The Reason That the 64 (NYC-1) (Hammerless) Weighs More is A Couple of Reason ! (1) The "Main Frame" of The 64 (NYC-1) has More Stainless Steel Added To The Back "Main Frame" Where The Cylinder Release Tab Resides and Has That "Upward" Stainless Steel "Hi Rise" Area To "Enclose" The Hidden Pure Carbon Steel Hammer ! (2) The Other Reason that The 64 is Slightly Heavier is Because it Possesses A "Micrometer" Measured Lengthier Cylinder ! Not Much to Even See With The Human Eye, But it is In Fact Very-Very Slightly Lengthier in Measurement ! The "Top Straps" (Combat Smooth and Both Super Snag Free) Are "Identical" ! The Barrel Lengths Are The Same -- Henceforth, Neither is A Bull Barrel and That Weight Up Front is "Proportional" ! The Cylinder Release Tabs are Identical (Pure Stainles Steel) -- those Used Prior to The Streamlined "MIM" New Cylinder Release Tabs on The Later 1997 Models For Both Revolvers ! However, The "Pure Carbon Steel" Smooth Combat Trigger Weighs Slighly More on The Model 64 (NYC-1) Rather Than The Stainless Steel Hammer and Trigger on The Model 60-7 ! The "Widths" of Both Barrels Are Exactyly The Same Which Are Identical and Both Serrated Front Stainless Steel Sights Measure The Same (Increased to 1/8" Width Years Ago) As a Matter of Fact -- Very Near To the Same Years ! But The Truth Be Told, There is Just "WAY MUCH MORE PURE STAINLESS STEEL" on The Model 64 (NYC-1) Hammerless Area of The Frame ! I've Put These Revolvers Side By Side and I've Never Seen "TWO MORE GEORGEOUS REVOLVERS" That Both Have "Unique Genuine Charistical Traits" ! It Will Depend Whether Or Not You Care To Have A (20 Ounce) Stainless Carry Gun ("The Model 60-7") With The Round Butt (Double Action) == OR == The 64 (NYC-1) -- Single Action Only Combat Carry Revolver ! Now, For My Preference -- Well Gents, "I'VE ALWAYS LIKE A TID BIT MORE HEFT" -- So I (Myself) Would Prefer The 64 (NYC-1) Over The Model 60-7 and Yet == "THEY BOTH POSSESS THE NEW YOKE RETENTION SYSTEM" Which Will give You A Lifetime of "SURE DEPENDABLE SHOOTING" ! There Are "Two" Variations of Grips That Could Definitely Change My Mind in Ergonomic "CONTROLABILITY" And I'll Add Those For You On This Auction and It Would Put Another 3 Ounces on The Model 60-7 and "THEN GENTS -- THIS RETIRED SOLDIER WOULD HAVE A VERY HARD TIME CHOOSING AND COULD POSSIBLY GO WITH THE MODEL 60-7" ! I Think that I Will Add Those Photos and They Are A "J" Frame Round Butt Combat Grips and They Are Among My collectible Grips For "Snubby" Smith and Wesson Revolvers ! Take a Look At Them and They Are "NOT A GIFT" -- Because They Will "FLOURISH" Well With The "BEST J FRAME SMITH REVOLVERS ON THE MARKET AND EVEN SOLD TODAY" ! I'll Add These Photos ! Later, I'll Explain the "SUPERIORITY" in a "TOP NOTCHED J FRAME MODEL 60" With Either or Both of These Styled Grips ! Scroll Down and You'll See Them ! Regards ! Jim Akers (Rep - Grip Designer Badger Custom Grips,LLC) ! |
| [Information added 2/27/2013 7:29:04 PM] | | NOTE: The Grips That Come With This Revolver Are The "Original" S&W Factory Issued Uncle Mikes (Rubber - Black and Lengthy) Grips == The Pachmayer (Rubber Grips) with The Pachmayer Logo == And The Wood Grip By Smith and Wesson Grip Company (Camo Lamo) Round Butt "J" Frame Converted To The Square Butt ! All of The Other Grips Are Used for "DISPLAY" Purposes Only of What You Could "POSSIBLY" Use With This Revolver ! Regards ! Jim (Rt. US Army) ! |
