This Garmin GPS unit features a high-sensitivity GPS receiver and a quad helix antenna for precise location pinpointing and crystal clear audio when using the Rino 610 as a two-way radio. The Garmin Rino series is best used when you're out with groups, and the 610 has some impressive communication features that can't be matched by other GPS devices. Garmin has included a unique position reporting feature in the Garmin Rino 610 Handheld GPS; send your location to your partner, and it will immediately show up on his or her Rino 610, relative to their own location. And you'll know almost everything about your partner's position as well; the Rino 610 can track up to 2,000 points of information per contact, including elevation, distance, latitude and longitude, and recently sent notes.
Speaking of notes, the Garmin Rino 610 allows you to send text messages to your fellow squad mates via radio waves, which is ideal for loud environments or when silence is necessary, prohibiting the use of the Garmin Rino 610 Handheld GPS Unit's radio capabilities. This Garmin product was designed to be easy to use as well. The 2.5" color touchscreen responds even when you're wearing gloves, the unit includes a night mode with easier to see colors once the sun falls, and you can switch "personalities" on the fly, which tailors presets to specific activities. On top of that, the Garmin Rino 610 GPS Radio features a detailed basemap, which can be augmented by purchasing and downloading additional maps from Garmin. Whether you're hunting, observing, or exploring, the Garmin Rino 610 Radio and GPS will keep you connected to your partners, your environment, and your location.
