Description for Item # 329892818

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION. This is another example of the iconic WWII demilled German MP40. What sets this example apart from 99.9 percent of the typical parts kits offered on GunBroker is the fact this is a complete MP40, including an orinial demilled receiver! After all, the receiver is by definition "the gun"---so if you don't have an original WWII German receiver, then you don't have an original WWII German MP40! And speaking of receiver, this example's front receiver half is cut far enough back that it includes an inch & 3/4 of the bolt slot (very unusual)! In all my years of collecting, I have never seen a front portion of a receiver
intact clear back to the bolt slot---meaning
the ejection port, magazine ports, etc., are completely intact (best shown in photo 12)! Rear half of receiver has original mounted rear site. The complete lower assembly is all matching, and the barrel assembly appears to be matching number--at least for those components having numbers (but the barrel assembly is not matched to the lower assembly). Parts are correct for the production year. Also, unlike many kits offered, this example has all functional parts (except the demilled receiver of course)---including a very nice barrel. Bakelite foregrip and pistol grip plates are in very good condition with no cracks or chips. Metal is in very good condition with no dings or dents. Magwell has what appears to be a little "blood pitting" on its right side. Metal has not been refinished however, so has original wartime finish---showing very little bluing remaining. Given the nice condition of the metal, this would be an excellent candidate for a re-blue---making this not only a complete example, but a beautiful one as well! Or leave as is for that salty looking "experienced" example! The original bolt handle was replaced at some point in this guns history---but an original MP40 bolt handle will also be included. Did I mention it comes with an original WWII German marked MP40 demilled receiver! This has so much more to offer than your typical MP40 parts kit. Unlike many so called MP40 display guns, with a few parts assembled on a bogus looking aluminum dummy receiver, this example is 100% complete. Because it has been demilled, this amazing piece of history requires no FFL and can be sent directly to your home. Bolt slides freely inside the receiver. Unless other parts are specifically referenced, the auction includes all parts shown---nothing more, nothing less. All WWII German markings are clear and distinct. This includes a very nice and complete lower assembly, a functional barrel assembly, barrel resting bar, a very nice correct ribbed magwell, a complete bolt (includes an extra original complete handle assembly), a nice firing pin/recoil assembly, a rear site, an original WWII German magazine, one original WWII MP40 black nose round, a leather sling and of course an original demilled receiver.
Compare this example with what you get from International Military Antiques for $2749.95. See their offering at: http://www.ima-usa.com/german-mp-40-display-gun-built-from-original-parts-set-ww2.html ...which has a destroyed (drilled) barrel, no original trunion, no bolt, no firing pin/recoil assembly, etc., etc. Try cocking their example! I am always happy to answer all questions, so please MAKE NO ASSUMPTIONS and look at all of the pictures and ask all questions and/or for additional photos if needed BEFORE placing your bid. This item may also be offered for sale at another venue, so it will be subject to removal until bid is placed meeting the reserve. These gun generally do not last long. Successful bidder must make contact within 72 hours--and payment must be received within ten days of auction close. I highly recommend sending payment by Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. I charge only actual U.S.P.S. Priority insured shipping costs. I will ship without insurance, but if that is the buyers choice, the buyer must accept all responsibility for loss or damage. No additional charge for the "bullet proof" packaging. Contact me about web payment, if that is your preference. Thanks for viewing my auction.
