Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp dovetailed into the barrel. The rear sight is a flat topped square notch sight that is dovetailed into the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is one piece black rubber with a pebbled surface. The grip shows very minor handling marks and rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Type of Finish: Matte Black Slide and Frame

Finish Originality: All Original

Bore Condition: The bores on all 4 barrels are mirror bright and the rifling is polygonal. There is no erosion in any of the bores.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The slide shows thinning on its edges and light handling marks on the flats. The frame shows thinning on the bottom edge around the magazine. The underside of the frame below the barrel shows handling marks, as does the front of the trigger guard. Both side edges of the ambidextrous safety and the edge of the slide release show surface loss. The .44 Mag. barrel shows some thinning on the front edge and top of the front sight. The .357 Mag. barrel shows no marks and doesn’t appear to have been used (although from the condition of the bolt, it has.) The .440 Cor-bon barrel shows some handling marks on the front face and along both sides. It also shows thinning on the top of the front sight and the left front edge. The .50 A.E. barrel shows handling marks on the front face, left side and top. It also shows thinning on the top of the front sight and the left front edge. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun and its barrels rate in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a aluminum case with the 4 barrels as described, 7 magazines, a bolt and an Operator’s Manual. The case has a lid with a nearly full length piano hinge with 4 aluminum feet. The lid and bottom of the case have 2 stainless steel heavy duty latches, each of which are lockable, along with a set of aluminum brackets that form a 3rd locking point. The hinge, brackets and latches are all riveted to the case. The case has a label above the black plastic handle marked “Magnum Research” and with their logo and phone number. The case shows surface loss and handling marks on its surfaces and corners. The inside of the case and lid are lined with gray foam. The foam shows the indentations of the contents, but no other disfiguration. The case rates in overall Fine condition. There are 3 seven round .50 AE magazines marked “5-95 / 50”, 2 nine round .357 Mag. magazines marked “10-96 / 357” and 2 eight round .44 Mag. magazines marked “44 / 6-95”. All of the magazines show little to no surface loss and are in Excellent condition. The bolt is marked “357”, “P” and “10”. The face of the bolt shows surface loss. It is in Excellent condition. The Operator’s Manual shows minor handling marks on the front cover and is in Fine condition.

Our Assessment: Although the case shows a little wear on the outside, it is a STURDY case, and obviously well made. This pistol, with its huge slide and barrel, is certain to get some looks from your friends the first time you show up to the range with it. With an assortment of barrels and magazines to choose from, you will probably have to spend hours deciding which cartridge you like the best. This entire factory component system was put together with the serious pistol shooter in mind. The .50AE and 440 Cor-bon chamberings in particular offer great loads for hunting deer and black bear.

All cartridge firing handguns (even C&R's and antiques) sold to a California resident must be DROS'd. This does not apply to out of state residents.
