This IS NOT a cut down rifle. It was made for Mounted Calvary Units--semi-rare, as only 20,000 were made. It has the correct 22" barrel with beautiful patina and a real nice clean bore and good rifling. It has the appropriate sights with the back adjustable sight correctly stamped with a "C". all adjustment screws turn easily, height adjustment slides fine also. Front sight has appropriate hood cover. "V over P" proof marks. Some light roughness/dings in the butt stock metal plate where it has been set on its end. Stock is near excellent with no cracks and only one very small nick in bottom of stock. Has the right Calvary slide ring for mounted patrol. Action functions perfectly. Overall very good condition, especially considering it is over 100 years old. Has a blue book value of $1850.00 plus. Ships USPS priority insured.
