Description for Item # 330438524

Remington Model 660. Caliber .308 Win. Serial #6250867. This is a " RARE " Rifle. It has the Factory 2 Tone Stock, Made 1983 There were 100 or Less than 100 of these made. The Remington factory letter backs up the correct configuration and indicates that Western Hogee Co. supplied these (1983 letter included). 99.9% Blue Excellent wood. If it weren't for a few marks it would be a completely Mint Rifle. $1999 ....................................... In case you do not know what this is I'll explain: ............................................. I've come across about a half dozen of these over my past 30+ years as a Gun-Dealer. Remington had decided to make 100 or less of these Non Magnum rifles with the 2 Tone stocks in the other calibers. I've had them in 308, 6mm, & 243. Remington did this with Both the Model 600 and the Model 660. They are Very Rare & most folks don't even know they exist. If you look closely, you will see the White Spacer (now a deep Yellow due to Age); between the Original Buttplate as well as on the Grip-Cap, and the Black ebony Fore-end. These have the same LOP as do the magnums with a 13 3/4 Length of Pull. Technically, the actual wood stock is an inch longer than the Magnum variations of the .350 Mag and the 6.5 Magnum rifle if you were to remove the Factory pad off of the Magnum variation. ..................... Evidently, Remington thought to do the same as the older Pre-1964 Winchester Model 70's, in that, Only the Magnums had a Pad and the other calibers had their standard Buttplates. This is Truly a Great find for any Remington Collection. ............................... The factory letter is also dated December 1983.
