GAR MEMORIAL FRAME – TWO SOLDIERS – PHOTO CARD

This is a memorial picture frame with a large cabinet card of two GAR Civil War soldiers. The image is really clear and you can almost read the matching ribbons that they are wearing. One guy could not be taller than the other! The ribbons and pins they are wearing might give an indication of the units. The one is wearing a three leaf clover pin, which corps designation. The tall guy is wearing a big pin that looks like a clay pot. The card is marked with the photographers info “Hesse & Hutti, 724 West Market Street, Louisville, KY”. There are no marks on the back. The frame is a neat piece, but has some wear and tear. It is a purple felt outer cover. It has two doors that open, and they appear to have silver handles and hinges. The bottom edge of the one door has the felt worn off. The frame is free standing, with a wire on the back. The glass is original, with small bubbles in the glass. Really a nice and interesting piece, that needs to be researched.
