KRIEGSMARINE (GERMAN NAVY) HONOUR ROLL/CLASP
Up for auction is an original German WWII KRIEGSMARINE (GERMAN NAVY) HONOUR
ROLL/CLASP (Ehrenblattflugspange der Kriegsmarine).
This rare award was issued to personnel who fell just short of of being issued
the Knight's Cross. Winners of the German Cross could ask for this award being
issued to them. The Honour Roll Clasp was therefore given only to an elite
group, eligible for this award due to their extraordinary bravery. Now the Old
Brigade shop is selling the same award for $1665 (code: 28072). The winner will
receive this link.
Reference: Detlev Niemann in
"Price Guide. Orders and decorations Germany" 2004, page 560 put 1500 EURO ($2000)
for that nice award. In a two years: Lothar Hartung catalogue "Auszeichnungen
des 3. Reiches", spezialkatalog 2005/2006, item #375, page 19, catalogue price
is 2600 EURO ($3200).
Estimate price for that nice item is $2200 - $2300.
