WWI Trench Art – 75MM Shell From Verdun. Stock # SP COMM. One of over a thousand Antique and Modern Collectible firearms, including Military, Sporting, Custom and Tactical guns, as well as Edged Weapons and Militaria we have for sale at Jackson Armory (see our other listings), this is a very unique piece of WWI History from the famous Battle of Verdun. This is Trench Art made from what we believe to be a French 75MM brass shell casing. This is maybe a drinking cup/chalice, or perhaps flower vase, or an ash tray? The brass has tarnished a bit, but it still would rate 95% condition. Standing 13 ¼” tall, the very heavy (2.7lb) shell is marked “VERDUN 1914” and it has the image of an Iron Cross and 2 flowers on it. The bottom is crimped, and the shell bottom has a series of letters and numbers that we cannot fully decipher, but again, we think it is French.
