7 Spencer Rounds in Sleeve - Sage - .56-50 un-open

7 SPENCER CARTRIDGES - ORIGINAL SLEEVE / BOX - .56-50

This is a full box of 7 Spencer carbine or rifle cartridges. The box is complete and has never been open. The paper is getting a little older, but is still holding onto the cardboard box. Assume the rounds are all perfect and still have the lube and patina on them. They have not been cleaned. Based on other open boxes from the same lot, they have plain head stamps. They are .56-50 which came out at the end of the Civil War. These would have been used well into the Indian Wars. The Spencers came 7 to a box because that is how many would fit into the tubular butt magazine. Normally 6 of these boxes would be contained in a larger box of sleeves. This box is very nice and would make an outstanding addition to a Civil War or Indian War display. They came out of a large box of cartridges with the Sage manufacturing company label on them. I have a larger full carton also for sale.
