Pass-Through filter glass. Which means the
front lens will not reflect light back to
give your position away. Also the
Pass-Through filter blocks all the haze,
flair, cotton balling or other optical
imperfections. So the laser will produce a
perfect illumination pattern all the time.
Failsafe on/off
The
unit cannot be operated unless the power switch
is on and the fire button is triggered.
The ON position is clearly marked with
white indicators

push on-off power switch controls the
laser activation and indicator light illuminates blue
when On and triggered.

THIS IS A INFRARED ILLUMINATOR THAT CAN ONLY BE
SEEN WITH NIGHT VISION OR CCD SETS. The unit is
designed to project an illumination field to aid
viewing at long range with Night Vision weapon
sights, cameras or equivalent units. The 850nm
will leave a minimal trace when activated
but is compatible with almost every GEN set.
The LDM-IR500VP works perfect for short-medium-long range
night vision illumination applications
because it operates with a user selectable
variable power selector. If there is a target
designated at 20 yards there is no need to use
the illuminator set on full power instead the VP
selector can be set at 50 or 150mW. Or if there
is a designated target at 500 yards the user can
select the illuminators maximum power for the
proper illumination. The collimated beam along
with the VP selector goes
far beyond regular IR-LED or Laser illuminators
while still having the capability of close
laser illumination. Although its not
pictured objects captured in the beam
illumination are viewable beyond 500 yards.
The LDM-IR500VP Long Distance Illuminator is
a hand held or weapon mount laser diode focus
illuminator built for civilian , law
enforcement and military use. The
design integrates a 500mW 850nm Infrared
Illuminator with a thumb controlled
Linear Optical Collimator to create the ultimate
illuminating instrument. One thumb control
quickly adjusts laser beam diameter and
illumination intensity. The high power
illumination beam may be collimated down and
concentrated to cast an intense, highly visible
beam of light able to be seen at distances up to
5 miles. The IR500VP can be used for signaling or
search and rescue operations along with night
vision viewing. The IR500VP can be adjusted
so that opening the collimator more
increases the diameter of the beam which can
fully illuminate objects up to 500 yards or
even a whole specific area for night vision
viewing. The IR500VP Illuminator Locator
light utilizes a IR illuminator which operates at 850NM which
leaves a minimal trace. The
IR500VP has a
battery duty cycle of up to 70-90 minutes @ full
power 240-280 minutes @ low power of continuous use
using the supplied 3.7 volt 6000mah rechargeable lithium
battery.
User
Cautions: Do not use a battery rated over
3.7 volts or internal damage could result. Use
the battery with highest available MAH rating as
oppose to a lower rating. When threading the
battery cap make sure it is correctly lined up
with the laser housing. There are two contact
springs one inside the housing and the other on
the battery cap. There is excessive pressure
because of the contact springs which make it
hard to start the threads correctly. Take you
time and triple check the battery cap is
threading on correctly cross threading is not a
warranty issue. Each unit is tested and verified
before shipping.
