!!! " The Untouchables " Below true value for such a One of a kind famous gun that belonged to 2 American Icons.!!! This gun actually belonged to two American Movie Legends. Robert Stack (AKA Eliot Ness), primary owner, and Gary Cooper, his mentor. Will consider Gold and Silver coins or guns on partial trade or OFFERS.!!! This famous shotgun originally belonged to " Untouchables" Robert Stack AKA "Elliot Ness". He bought the gun in 1953; PRE-Diana Grade, grade 5 . Along the way he gave it to his good friend Gary Cooper. Later he got it back prior to Coops death in 1961(Coop didn't want it to get into someone else's hands) and kept it to his death. Among his many guns It was his favorite shooter and was seen by many at Celebrity Shoots, TV, and other places. Many folks mistook it for a Krieghoff because of the special split barrels that had been made for it back in 1953. When he used it , It bought back fond memories of his dear friend Coop. It is a piece of American History. It is written up in the Mar/April 2005 issue of Shooting Sportsman.I have the original magazine. Read the article which is included. It has the complete history of this gun. At the 2004 Gold Medal Concours VIII, it won the Gold in Guns of Memory and Tradition. Bob Stack was a National Shooting Champion at age 17 and taught movie stars how to shoot. This was his "IN" into the movie trade. Gary Cooper took him under his wing and he became an actor who knew not only which way to point a gun but could actually hit something with it. He was one of the best. He made numerous westerns and other movies as well as being a TV star. He will always be remembered as being a fine gentleman; very kind and considerate. As to Gary Cooper; we just don't have room to include all of his accolades. GOOGLE Wikipedia on both of them. I was amazed at all of their achievements and I feel honored holding the same gun to my shoulder that these two men used. I can't put it into words.
