Description for Item # 331067556

A very unique Colt 1911 piece of militaria. The only one I've ever seen exist. It is designed to carry 6 pistols. 15.5" tall by 18" wide. I assume it was used to distribute sidearms to sentrys when on duty and then collect them when they went off duty. The piece is stamped; Pistol Rack .45 Cal Colt 1911-A1, Ord. Dr. No.42807 Mfg. at Navy Yard, Phila., Pa. I haven't cleaned it up it is in as found condition. All leather pouches and straps are in very good condition. Board is 3/4" plywood and is also in very good condition. This is one of those collectible Colt pieces that is a once in a lifetime find. Don't miss your chance to own this rare piece of history.
