Description for Item # 331161976

This is a very well preserved almost minty very early top lever12 hammer gun. Handles more like a 16 gauge at 6 1/2 pounds. 28" fancy damascus barrels choked Improved cylinder x Cylinder with pattern still brightly visible. Bores are excellent. Case color is muted but nearly all remaining on the handsomely engraved sidelock action. Purdeys patented bolting system is employed on this action. Tall elegant hammers and transitional carved fences. Nitre blueing is very nice on trigger guard. Wood and checkering are as nice as the rest of the gun, but do show some handling marks and gouge or two. 14 5/8" LOP to the original horn buttplate. Drop is 1 5/8" and 2 7/8". Gun is tight like new and all the numbers match. Overall a very fine and lightweight early Scott hammergun.
