Description for Item # 331331200
|
|

U.S. Marine Corps "Sniping" FMFM 1-3B, August 1969, and U.S. Army "Sniper Training and Employment" TC 23-14, October 1969.
These Vietnam-era versions of the sniper training publications are two of the more difficult to find manuals, not as common as many other widely sold and reproduced Marine Corps and Army field manuals.
Note that the photos below are low-resolution snapshots taken of the computer screeen. The scanned images on the CD are similar to reading the original printed copy.
The original publications have been professionally scanned by a person who specializes in transferring technical manuals to CD-ROM. They are in Adobe PDF format, readable on any PC. (You don't need special software, just the free Adobe Reader, which most computers already have.)
The Army manual is 197 pages. “This publication contains detailed information on the principles of advanced rifle marksmanship essential to sniper training, to include sniper equipment, individual combat skills, and employment of the sniper in various combat roles and special operations.”
The weapon system it discusses is the M21, based on the accurized M14 rifle. See a photo of the table of contents below.
The Marine Corps manual is 277 pages. “FMFM1-3B, Sniping, sets forth doctrine, techniques, and procedures for the training and employment of snipers in the Fleet Marine Forces. Concepts of employment for snipers are also provided. It is made available to other Services for information and use as desired.”
The focus in this manual is the M40, based on the Remington 700 rifle. The table of contents is pictured below.
Both manuals discuss the Redfield 3-9 rifle scope, the AN/PVS-2 night vision sight.
A great way to get two desirable manuals without paying collector prices for the originals. Read them on the computer or print just the pages of interest.
Postage is included in the price.
A personal check is OK if you don't mind waiting ten business days before I ship the ammo. If you're in a hurry, use a money order or bank check.
Note that I am obligated to collect sales tax if I ship this to a California address. Sorry...I don't like it either.
E-mail if you have any questions. Note that I can't access my e-mail every day, and not on weekends, so don't despair if I don't answer right away.
