Robert Adams, London,
Støckel: 1809 - 1870, receives 24. Feb. 1851 13257 for his percussion revolver,
which are 1851 - 1856 distributed through the newly founded company Deane, Adams & Deane,
1856 - 1858 director of the London Armoury Company,
opens 1858 his own shop in London, 76 King Williams St.
Robert Adams revolver, serial # 60076P,
caliber .45 percussion,
6" octagonal barrel with dovetail front sight
and maker's R. ADAMS 76 KING WILLIAM ST. LONDON on top flat,
left side ramrod, safety to block cylinder revolving,
single and double action.
On left side ADAMS PATENT No. 60067P.
The revolver is bright blue,
which appears too perfect and I assume it is high quality re-blue.
Fine checkered grips and the revolver is in good working order.
The revolver comes in a correct wooden case
with nipple driver, cleaning rod,
C. & J.W. HAWSKLEY powder flask,
one tin with bullets, one tin with caps,
an oil can, a little gutta percha case with 2 replacement nipples and the key.
Inside the lid is ADAMS trade label.
Outside the escutcheon is not used.
The set shows for its age the expected wear but generally it is fine.
Like all my lots never a reserve!
