Magnificent Deluxe Engraved Winchester 1895 Takedown Rifle in .405 WCF Caliber. Stock # MSR252616CEE. Serial # 419xxx. One of over a thousand Antique and Modern Collectible firearms, including Military, Sporting, Custom and Tactical guns, as well as Edged Weapons and Militaria we have for sale at Jackson Armory (see our other listings), this gorgeous engraved Winchester Model 1895 Takedown, chambered for .405, and with a 23” barrel, is not just beautiful, the rifle, literally, is a work of art! The rifle has had some enhancements, to wit: a recoil pad has been added, additional gold engraving was done on the receiver, most likely in Indonesia, and the deluxe Walnut stock has, we believe, been re-cut. Those things notwithstanding, calling this rifle magnificent is quite the understatement! Featuring a beautiful deluxe Walnut Monte Carlo stock, the gold-inlay engraving, both the factory rings, and the added Indonesian embellishments, are of the highest quality. As for condition, the polished blue (possibly a re-finish) and the aforementioned stock easily rate 95%+ condition. The rifle has a shiny bore with strong rifling, the lever action operates smoothly, and trigger pull is very smooth. As you are probably aware, if this rifle was in pristine factory condition, it would easily bring $20,000., this rifle is very nice, and it is, relatively speaking, a bargain for the discerning Collector!
