Characteristics for Item # 331857265

Manufacturer:  Wildey
Caliber:  .45 Win. Mag.

Description for Item # 331857265

This is a scarce Wildey Survivor in 45 Winchester Magnum, in beautiful like-new condition. I have fired one box through the gun, and once the gas knob is dialed in (a cool feature unique to this handgun), it works great. This hand cannon is famous for its appearance in Death Wish III as Charles Bronson's preferred justice dispenser. I suggest watching some scenes of the film on Youtube, because they're pretty funny.

This particular gun comes with what appears to be the original box, an extra magazine (for a total of TWO), and the original manual. I believe this is an original gun from the 70s, and not a later-production version from the 90s.

There are no flaws that I can find in the finish. It is shiny and unblemished.

The gun is a beauty, and surprisingly pleasant to shoot. Best of all, 45 WinMag isn't impossible to find, like Wildey's proprietary calibers!

Someone asked if I could ship this Wildey to California. I would love to be able to, but it looks like it isn't on the DOJ's list of approved guns (probably due to age and rarity), so it can't be transferred in from out of state.

If I am incorrect about this, please let me know.

Another bidder asked what the barrel length is. I measured it and found it to be 6".

A bidder asked about some markings on the gun. It was made in New Milford, CT. Below is a photo.

I have been corrected by a helpful visitor and apparent Wildey collector. He writes:

That's an 8" barrel gun. I can tell just by looking but if you look at the graduations in the foam in the case, it was 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 12 inches. Yours is on 8. And the way to measure is to put a rod down the muzzle to the bolt face with the slide closed and see what you have, it's an 8", which is ideal IMO. Also I would guess that New Milford was made in the early 90's. The first guns were made at Cheshire which closed in the early 80's. NM guns with lower serial numbers (I have 1045, 1880 and 2041) came with manuals dated 1987. But that is a high serial number, 32XX. They changed factories again and made guns until 2009 in Warren, CT. There is nothing wrong with the later guns, they are all awesome. Looks nice too.

It looks like there were two triggers available for the highly customizable Wildey pistols. This particular gun is equipped with the DA/SA trigger.
