For sale is our family home nesteld in the Western North Carolina Appalacian/Smoky/Blue Ridge Mountains. Murphy NC is just 15 minutes from the Georgia and Tennessee borders - in fact, if you follow the main road by this cabin you can follow the old wagon trails in a 2wd car over to Tennessee in just a few minutes over some 4000 foot mountains - the road leads right into Tellico Plains Tennessee and to some of the best mountain trout fishing on Tellico River. Even less time can have you hunting Black Bear, Russian Boar, Grouse, Turkey, Squirrels, Rabbits, Woodcock, Quail and other small game on US and NC forest lands which number over 100,000 acres here - there are more public lands than private property here so just about anywhere you go you can find plenty of area to hunt on - the fishing is great too as 6 local streams are stocked in summer months 4-5 times with Brook, Brown, and Rainbow trout - 3 of these streams are within 5 miles of this cabin - then there are the lakes and espcially Hiwassee Lake which has 6400 acres along 22 miles of lake to fish for 4 species of Bass, Walleye, Perch, Bream, Catfish and others - there are free boat launches and also private boat docks to keep your boat at - lake fishing is year round, trout fishing is closed only 1 month a year - the house is 60 years old and in good shape - it could use some TLC but every house could - there =is plenty of room to store your rec vehicles in the level parking areas, the rear carport and the double port detached carport - if you like horses or cows there is about 1.5 acres of pasture or use it for organic gardens - has a wood stove and a Monitor oil heater - house has 1 bath, large kitchen, LR, utility room, 4 rooms that can be bedrooms or storage, airy front porch, and screened rear porch - the best thing is it is a turn-key place ready to provide a good place to launch your outdoor activities from.
