For sale is a: JC Higgins 583 .23. The gun fuctions just fine. As you can tell there is light rust and a small pit marks over most of the reciever and barrel. There is bare metal showing in some spots as well.That being said the bore is in good shape. In trying to take the bolt out we notices the screw that hold it in place is chewed pretty good. Therefore it might take some work to get it out, if you were interested in doing that. You can see the screw in the pics. There also seems to be a foreign screw holding the receiver to the stock. This is also pictured. The wood has some nicks and dings and a few hairline cracks. There also appears to be some paint in a few areas. Cosmetically the gun is not so pretty, but it does work and would make a neat shotgun for someone, especially after a detailed cleaning and a little tlc.

We will not modify a firearm to meet your states requirements. We accept major Credit Cards with NO FEES! We also accept USPS Money Orders and MAJOR bank Cashier’s Checks. We require a signed type 1 FFL copy on every firearm less than 50 years old. C&Rs (older than 50 years) require a signed copy of the type 3 C&R license. We ship via FedEx insured. Shipping for MOST firearms is $35.00 - shipped via FedEx (you can assume that shipping will be more on very expensive/heavy rifles or pistols. We try to state this in the main body of the ad, but sometimes it does not) . E-mail us with your zip code for rates to Alaska and Hawaii. Hand guns are shipped via FedEx Express 2 Day Air. Long guns will be shipped via FedEx Ground. Heavy, heavily cased and/or expensive firearms will be shipped fully insured "at cost". We use only FedEx, please don't ask us to use a different carrier. As the firearm listed may be listed on other auction sites and/or available for sale in our retail store, ALL LISTINGS are SUBJECT TO PRIOR SALE... When possible, on an item with no bids, please contact us about status prior to bidding, especially on one of a kind items. All used guns have a 7 day return policy (no firing, or modifications allowed). New guns have a 14 day return (unfired/modified)
policy. There is a 15% restocking fee on all returned guns. The buyer is responsible for return shipping and insurance costs.
Side note on the shipping: We have many listings on GB. Thereofore we create a standard "fine print" for all of our ads. You will notice it states $35 shipping under both 2nd day and ground. Legally we have to send pistols 2nd day, rifles we do not....We ship all rifles ground for $35, we ship all pistols 2nd day for $35. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule as stated above. However, a few people have assumed we ship long guns 2nd day because it costs the same in the ad.
