Description for Item # 332213240

WWII U.S. N. Mk. 1 commando fighting knife in matching scabbard. 5-1/4", steel clip-pointed blade, marked, "U.S.N. Mark 1" on one side, and "RH 35" flanking an oval reading, "PAL", "Made in USA". Steel throat in composite scabbard w/canvas frog, marked, "U.S.N. Mk 1" on one side, and on the other, "ORD-811 B.M.Co.1/5 Vo." Leather planchets are stacked on the tang and formed into the grip, metal pommel, steel throat handguard. Generally issued to some Marines and naval personnel who jumped off with them in assault waves. Quite rare, good used condition, complete, overall length, 11". They came in handy when it got down to hand to hand. A war souvenir that must have meant a lot to the G.I. who made it out alive to come home and tell his story. As-is.
