I have for sale or possible trade a very nice Luger pistol chambered in .30 Luger. The pistol has a very low serial number of 2154, which I believe makes this a very early commercial example of the pistol. The gun is very beautiful, the bluing is still very, very nice. The inside of the mechanism is caked in old military grease or cosmoline which has hardened now. I removed some with gunpowder solvent but I left a lot of it in as I believe it adds character to the weapon. The grips have been treated with bee wax, I am told that is how they were originally made in the early ones. The bee wax comes off very easily if you choose to do so, but it has protected the grips extremely well over the many decades since the gun was made and I choose to leave it on. All the serial numbers that I could find match. This is a beautiful example of a luger. I am not an expert by any means, but with a low serial number of below 2200 this has to be an early one. It also comes with a booklet in german. Mauser was marketing these pistols to military as well as police and civilian buyers. The booklet is in german. I don’t read german and I have no idea what it says, but I would guess it’s a user/maintenance manual. The weapons action is very tight. The gun has been fired but you can tell it has not been fired much as it does not show much internal wear. This is a beautiful early example of a luger pistol.
I would prefer to sell the weapon for cash but I am also interested in trading it for other firearms or for gold coins. Gold protects your portfolio if the market crashes or if there is inflation, scenarios associated with down market moves. However, firearms have even better correlation to the market as they do great as a portfolio allocation as long as the market moves up or down. If the market crashes there is more crime and more fear and people buy more guns as a self insurance policy. If the market rises there is more disposable income and people buy more guns. If the fed stops printing money and the economy improves the price of gold will come down, however the price of guns is not likely to come down as people will have more disposable income but also because with the passage of time it only becomes harder to acquire more guns because governments keep passing new restrictions and regulations. I use my firearms as a portfolio allocation but I also like keeping them around. If there is ever a break down in law and order through a natural or man made disaster your firearm is the only thing that will protect you, your property and your loved ones as law enforcement officers will be tied up elsewhere, just ask the people of Louisiana who needed police protection during hurricane Katrina.
I am primarily interested in one ounce gold coins, I like Eagles, liberties or maples but PAMPs or Krugerrands would work as well. I will treat you very fairly and give you credit for the spot price of gold per ounce. If the spot price of gold is more than my firearm I will make you whole with other firearms or ammo or accessories. I will not rip you off like those gold buying stores that pay people 30% below spot price. Again, I will get you credit for the spot price of gold. I am not an ffl or a gold business. I am just a private individual who is doing an asset swap by swapping some of my firearms for gold in order to balance my portfolio. I will trade this weapon even for a one ounce gold coin, I will treat you very fairly. As far as firearms trades go I would not mind a Steyr AUG or USR in original confirguration with matching parts. I might also be open to a trade for an all Belgian FN FAL, no knock offs. I might also be open to other trades, just let me know what you have.
I must ship the weapon to your ffl. Shipping is free to whomever purchases from me or whoever trades with me as long as your ffl accepts from me directly. If he does not please add $25 as that is what he will charge me for the transfer. Also if you want insurance please add $40 as that is what it will cost to insure the weapon for shipping.
If you want to buy the weapon just hit the buy it now and you can send me a personal check or money order as payment. If you want to trade, here is how the trading works. Once we agree on a trade I will end the auction or auctions. You will then send your gold to me directly, or if you are trading me firearms your firearm to my ffl. Once your gold gets to me or your firearm to my ffl, I will ship my weapon or weapons to your ffl. This is just like purchasing something on gunbroker and sending payment first, except you are paying with another firearm or with gold. These terms are not negotiable. Please look at the pictures carefully as I went through a lot of trouble to take them. Either send me a message through this site or for best results email me directly at longkarabine@gmail.com.
I strive to answer all emails within 24 hours, if I fail to respond I never got your message so please try again. I sincerely appreciate your time and consideration and I apologize for the long description but this amazing weapon truly warrants a lot of detail in the wording. I have this weapon for sale locally as well and I reserve the right to end the auction early. I will not end the auction if there is a bid on it. I will gladly sell or trade the weapon face to face to an Illinois resident with a valid Illinois Firearms Owners Identification Card. Again, I can only ship the weapon to a licensed FFL and I can only sell it or trade it face to face to someone with a Valid FOID Card. All the best and May The Second Amendment Live Forever.
