Description for Item # 332294179

German WWII 98K Bayonet with scabbard Kriegsmarine Marked on both Bayonet & Scabbard. Bayonet is clearly marked on guard: "N23865K" Scabbard is also clearly marked "N25493K" This combo that is includes both bayonet & scabbard with Kriegs stamping, is very hard to find. The bayonet (1940 Coppel Gmbh) retains the majority of its original bluing. The bayonet button is functional. The reverse upper pommel edge contains the two Waffen Amt marks being the open winged eagle. The grip plates are the bakelite style having the deep purple color exhibiting wear mainly in the form of faint scratches with NO chips/cracks. The plates are retained by spanner and screw hardware. The guard edges remain crisp, while the surfaces are smooth. The blued blade exhibits minor wear from light sharpening. The blued blade is the dark bluish style with the finish grading 95%: The obverse ricasso is stamped 352 while the reverse ricasso is stamped Coppel Gmbh:. The marking "1940" on the spine of the blade indicates that this piece was manufactured in the year 1940. The scabbard is straight! The blued finish minor wear/age and appears blued in color. The upper obverse side is stamped 4232d while the reverse upper side is stamped P. Weyersberg 1939. The reverse side of the scabbard ball is matching Waffen Amt stamped with the open winged eagle. The scabbard throat is retained by a single side screw. This bayonet with scabbard is a clean and honest and VERY RARE example of a Kriegsmarine Model for your 98K rifle.
