Description for Item # 332834194

German Luger P-08. Mauser BYF-42 Code. Made in 1942. Serial # 7142k. Original finish. All matching and correct except magazine which is 7162/WaA37. Magazine is non matching by one digit or 20. Factory mistake? Bright finish firing pin matches. Trigger is blued. FXO magazine has a plastic base. Spline is unmarked. Left side has two WaA37s. The bore is bright and shiny but there is some light surface roughness towards the muzzle. It is not deep pitting. Caused by corrosive ammo? See last pictures. Although the bore is shiny, the blue diffused light shows the roughness better. The pistol shows little evidence of firing. The lands are sharp and the bolt face is still blued with no firing primer ring showing. No barrel guage stamp. This was deleted during 1942. Pistol is in overall very good condition. Correct WaA135 acceptance stamp and Nazi eagle proofs. Very little wear on surfaces and sharp edges. I would rate overall finish at 98%. Ejector is straw colored. Wooden grips are very good with only one small ¼” bruised area above magazine release button. Wooden grips are unmarked on interior. (Only about 20% had black plastic grips). No cracks or chips. There are just a few pits under the grips. (see pictures). I have not disassembled beyond field stripping.
