Colt 1849 Pocket .31cal, Mfg. 1862. Stock # AH174DJ. Serial # 196xxx. This antique Colt 1849 Pocket revolver is chambered for .31 caliber, and it was manufactured in 1862, giving it a pretty good chance to have seen service in the Civil War (the 1849 Pocket Models were never issue guns, but many a Yank and Johnny Reb carried them as private purchase weapons during the Civil War). The pistol is in excellent condition, all serial numbers match on all numbered parts of the revolver. The 6” barreled gun has Colt’s New York address on top of the barrel, and about 85% of the original cylinder scene remains. The pistol has service marks, about 80% of the original blue finish remains on the barrel, there is some mild freckling. A lot of the original casehardening remains on the receiver and loading lever. The brass trigger frame has tarnished to a nice patina, and the grips retain 90% of the original varnish – overall condition of the gun is 85%. The bore is a little dark, good rifling is still visible. The action has two cocks, and locks up tightly and trigger pull is crisp. This is the condition that you want to upgrade to, this is a very nice Civil War-era Colt 1849 Pocket Revolver. We do not have any accessories for this gun. This is an antique firearm – with a copy of your Drivers License, establishing that you are over age 21, we can ship the gun direct to your home, an FFL license is not required. .
