Browning Twentyweight Double Auto semi-automatic shotgun, serial number 6A515xx, made in 1966. This variation of the Double Auto is 3/4 lb lighter than the Lightweight or Twelvette models and was made from 1957 to 1971. It has an alloy receiver with a jet black finish with engraving accented with gold foil, a 26 inch vent rib barrel with a fixed skeet choke and a round knob pistol grip stock.
This shotgun is in very good used condition, and has a nice appearance for its age. The aluminum receiver has most of its black coating, with just a few scratches. The bolt is in very good condition. The original buttplate has no chips or cracks, and very little wear. Wood finish is good, but shows some handling marks, none severe.
The barrel may have been refinished. If so, the reason may have been bluing wear rather than pitting, as markings are sharp, not polished off.
The left side of the barrel is marked “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL, P.Q.”, “MADE IN BELGIUM”, with various other markings.
The right side of the barrel is marked “S** SPECIAL STEEL – 12 GA. – SHELLS 2 3/4."
The bore is mirror-bright. The action is in excellent working condition. We test fired the shotgun and it works perfectly. A video of our test firing is available below.
