I have a nice used Remington Model 552 Speedmaster chambered for .22 short, long and long rifle. It has been shot and handled very little. I did verify function with both shorts and LR, no problems. I would rate the bluing at 90% with a few small scratches on the metal and wood stocks. The wood stock is cracked behind the receiver on both sides but is still tight. There is a spot on the butt stock where it looks like tape was at one time, should clean up fine. This is a very clean rifle for it's age. There is slight surface rust on the front of the mag tube and around the rear sight, other than those areas, the rest of the metal is clean. I will let the new owner decide if they would like to try and clean those areas up.
I'm using the date codes stamped on the left side of the barrel, "DMJ" to determine it is a 1965. However, those numbers could have a different meaning. There is no serial number so it is older than 1968. It is a "Plain A" model with smooth wood and a 23 1/2" barrel. The gloss is thin in a few places but good overall. The rear sight is elevation adjustable.
The rifle will come in a standard rifle box, the OEM box and paperwork are missing.
Please ask all questions before bidding/buying. I have tried my best to list all details and describe the rifle as is. If you feel my details could be wrong, please let me know. I am not a Remington guru.
