About BSA Guns
The story of BSA dates back to 1689 at the court of William and Mary. Worried by threats of invasion, King William III made a trial order of 200 muskets from a group of five respected Birmingham gunsmiths. The muskets exceeded the King’s expectations, and trading with the Birmingham gunsmiths continued for 150 years as they grew their numbers from five to 14. During the Crimean War, the 14 gunsmiths formalized their group as the Birmingham Small Arms Trade Association, or BSA. On June 7th, 1861, a public company was formed. They continued to produce firearms for the UK and foreign governments throughout both World Wars. Today, BSA Guns is owned by Gamo and focuses on air guns rather than military weaponry.
BSA scopes hit the market when the company created its BSA Optics line, including binocular, spotting scopes, riflescopes, lasers and red dot sights, to name just a few of the shooting accessories they make. BSA scopes are offered at a competitive price, including models designed for the .17 HMR rifle. BSA scopes rest on a foundation of technical excellence that stretches back hundreds of years.
