The Bergara B-14 Wilderness Hunter long-range bolt-action rifle is accurate, feature rich and high-quality. The Hunter has a free-floated lightweight #4 taper barrel by Bergara that gets a matte Sniper Grey Cerakote finish. The monolithic curved grip camouflaged stock is hand-painted with webbing over the Sniper Gray camo. As a bonus, the hand-painting ensures no two copies of this gun are exactly alike.

The B-14 Wilderness Hunter’s starts with a non-threaded recessed crown. Moving back, the extraordinarily smooth moving one-piece 4140 chromoly steel B-14 action has two-lugs, a sliding plate extractor and a spherical bolt handle. Accuracy meets or exceeds 1.0 MOA.

This gun includes five calibers and a hinged floor plate architecture. The 6.5 Creedmore (1:8” twist ratio) and .308 Winchester (1:10”) are 4-round capacity, 7.1-pound guns with 22” barrels and 41.5” overall lengths. The 7mm Remington Magnum (1:9.5”) and .300 Winchester Magnum (1:10”) have 24” barrels, 44” overall lengths, weigh 7.3 pounds and are 3-round capacity guns. Finally, the .28 Nosler (1:9.5”) has a 26” barrel, is 46” long overall and weighs 7.5 pounds. It is a 2-round capacity rifle.

The Hunter features a short-action mini-chassis bedded into a SoftTouch finish molded stock and a Bergara Performance Trigger. The inspiring stock has well done pennant-surrounded checkering on both front and at the grip. It’s almost hard to see thanks to the webbed camo, but fear not, you’ll feel it’s there!

The stock is also factory drilled and tapped for Remington 700 rings and bases. That the whole thing feels high quality and steady with this arm is in part thanks to the Bergara Performance Trigger. The Hunter’s stock is backed by a thick black recoil pad.

Bergara precision barrels use advanced manufacturing techniques that include face turning/barrel straightening, deep hole drilling, honing, rifling and stress relieving. Face turning smooths the bar stock and straightens it. Deep hole drilling creates the bore in the stock from one end to the other. Honing uses diamond-tipped bits to fashion near mirror-polished bore interiors in a way that’s much smoother than simply reaming it. Rifling uses a carbide rifling button that creates grooves at the determined ideal twist ratio. The final step is stress relieving which uses high temperature heating to align steel molecules! The result is an extremely high-quality barrel with sub .0002” grooves that is more affordable barrels often costing much more.
