The Bergara HMR PRO long-range 3+1 / 5+1 capacity bolt-action rifle is accurate, feature rich and high-quality. This durable Hunting and Match Rifle (hence the “HMR PRO” moniker) has a free-floated #5.5 to #6 taper Tactical Grey Cerakoted stainless-steel barrel by Bergara that gets a black with grey fleck finished stock. The one-piece stainless-steel Bergara Premier action has two-lugs, a sliding plate extractor and an oversize fluted conical tactical bolt knob.

This gun spans multiple calibers. This includes .22-250 Remington (with a 1:9” twist ratio), 6mm Creedmore (1:7.5”), 6.5 Creedmore (1:8”), 6.5 PRC (1:8”), .308 Winchester (1:10”), 7mm Remington Magnum (1:9.5”), .300 Winchester Magnum (1:10”), .300 PRC (1:9”) and .28 Nosler (1:9”). All are 5+1 capacity and ship with a 5-round AICS magazine detachable except the 3+1 6.5 PRC that ships with a 3-round AICS-type detachable mag.

In front is a 5/8x24” threaded muzzle (except the .450 Bushmaster which is 11/16×24”) though no muzzle brake is included. The gun features a TriggerTech Frictionless Release Technology trigger that’s externally adjustable. The gun has a sub-MOA guarantee using factory match-grade ammo.

The .308 Winchester has a 20” barrel, 40” overall length and weighs 9.3 pounds. The 6.5 Creedmore, 6.5 Creedmore Heavy Barrel, and .22-250 Remington have 24” length barrels, 44” overall lengths and weigh 9.5 to 9.7 pounds. The 7mm Remington Magnum is the same but measures 45.5” overall. The 6mm Creedmore and 6.5 PRC feature 26” barrels, 46” overall lengths and 9.7-pound weights. The longest are the .300 Winchester Magnum, .28 Nosler and .300 PRC sporting 26” barrels, 47.5” overall lengths and weigh 9.8-pound weights!

Bergara uses superb and ultra-modern manufacturing techniques including face turning, deep hole drilling, turning, honing and rifling. The final step is stress relieving which is high temperature heating to align steel molecules! The result is an extremely high-quality barrel with sub .0002” grooves that is more affordable barrels often costing much more.

The HMR PRO features a short-action mini-chassis bedded into a molded stock and a Bergara Performance Trigger. It is also factory drilled and tapped for Remington 700 rings and bases. That everything feels high quality and steady with this arm is in part thanks to the Bergara Performance Trigger. Underneath, a top-loaded Bergara-badged AICS-style detachable box magazine that’s mates to the gun’s floorplate. The HMR PRO’s heavy tactical waterfall grip stock features black flecks on a tan background. The stock includes a height-adjustable cheek rest, adjustable length-of-pull using spacers, QD flush cups, a trio of swivel mounts to attach slings and a bipod and a thick recoil-absorbing black butt pad.
