The Bergara Small Batch Sidekick (aka Small Batch #1 and even BSB No. 1) is so named for its 200-unit production run. Bergara’s “Small Batch” fits in between its Premier and Custom guns. Or Bergara puts it, the Small Batch brings “finely tuned, hand-crafted firearms to niche markets”. The Small Batch series is thus upscale of the already impressive Premier lineup but obviously neither as expensive nor as customized as the eponymous “Custom” guns. And as far as the Sidekick goes, it is a semi-automatic pistol built with a side-folding arm brace that spans .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmore and .223 Wylde calibers. Each has a 1:8” twist ratio.

This trio features a 10.5” fluted stainless-steel barrel, 28.25” overall length and a 5.8-pound weight. In other words, it’s capable, compact and lightweight. Each Sidekick is fronted by a 5/8-24” TPI thread and a corollary thread protector. It also comes standard with a 10-round magazine.

The gun features a custom-built premium Black Collar Arms chassis as the nucleus of its modular construction. The inspired design pares away anything unessential. Then most everything directly or indirectly connects to it. The chassis gets a Multicam Black Cerakote finish.

The silky-smooth one-piece stainless-steel Bergara Premier action has two-lugs, a sliding plate extractor and an oversize fluted conical tactical bolt knob. In front is a 5/8x24” threaded muzzle though no muzzle brake is included.

The M-LOK slots along the front flanks and the integrated Arca Swiss rail permit you to attach many accessories. The pistol grip is black, polymer, textured and contoured with three finger recesses. The trigger guard is a large, skeletonized trapezoid.

Bergara likes using TriggerTech triggers in its Premier guns, and the Small Batch series is no different. Here Bergara integrates an all-weather TriggerTech Primary Trigger featuring Frictionless Release Technology. It’s made of anodized 7075 aluminum, 440C Stainless-steel, etc. It is externally adjustable across a 1.5-to-4-pound pull pressure range that’s adjustable in one-ounce increments. It has zero creep and overtravel is under .015”!

It comes standard with a conceal carry / everyday carry (EDC) S27 Little Trick backpack. This backpack will fit your laptop and documents. Its expandable bottom makes it big enough for carbines and long-guns, and it has a quick-access built-in pistol holster.

The Sidekick features a SB Tactical Folding Brace called the FS1913. This side-folding arm brace is all matte black, lightweight and popular for good reason. It uses its strut design to connect to the MIL-SPEC-1913 Picatinny rail at the receiver’s rear. It has a pull-through opening and locks up tightly once it is fully extended.
