Browning’s 1911-380 Speed/Speed Compact integrates a matte steel barrel, a matte A-TACS AU Camo finished polymer frame to a Burnt Bronze Cerakoted stainless-steel slide. This 8+1 capacity single stack semi-automatic’s overall desert motif looks great. Browning fleshes out the rest of this new for 2021 gun with matching A-TACS AU Camo composite grips that are fastened at top and bottom.

This gun is offered in both Full Size and Compact and forms part of Browning’s impressive and expansive lineup of .380s. It comes with assorted items such as steel combat sights, a pair of 8-round single-stack magazines and a pistol rug for your carrying convenience.

The slide is eye-catching. It’s also very well made. That’s because it is CNC machined stainless-steel with seven forward leaning rear grip serrations. The serrations’ lean angle matches the grip’s overall angle and that of the aforementioned grips. The gun has a pair of three white-dot steel combat sights neatly dovetailed atop the frame. The sub-frame and slide rails are machined of 7075 aluminum to minimize weight. The mainspring housing is flat so shooters with different size hands will find it comfortable.

The gun has an extended manual ambidextrous thumb safety and a raised bump grip safety. The skeletonized single-action trigger is crisp, clean and predictable.

The Full Size has a target crowned 4 1/4” length barrel, 5 3/8” sight radius and 7 1/2” overall length. The gun weighs 18 ounces. The Compact has a target crowned 3 5/8” length barrel, 4 3/4” sight radius within an overall 6 7/8” length. It weighs just 16 ounces.

This Speed/Speed Compact .380 and its siblings are made in Morgan, Utah, so this gun is Made in USA. Please note: as of the time of this writing, this gun is restricted in California, Maryland and Massachusetts.
