The Browning Buck Mark Field/Target Micro Bull Suppressor Ready is a great looking .22LR 10+1 single-action autoloading 2021 SHOT Show Special. This nearly all-matte black semi-automatic pistol features Pro-Target front and back sights, Browning Ultragrip FX (UFX) grips and simple, reliable and effective a straight blow-back, recoil-operated engineering.

The gun’s threaded 4.4” bull profile steel barrel features 1/2"-28 suppressor ready threads and comes with a thread protector. Overall length is a neat 8.0” and weight is a fairly light 29 ounces.

The matte black receiver is CNC-machined 7075-T6 aluminum. CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control, meaning the machine is computer programmed and works semi-autonomously to make arguably perfect parts. Using 7075-T6 makes the gun lightweight while keeping it sturdy.

Like other .22 semi-automatics, the Browning Buck Mark Field/Target Bull Suppressor Ready has a minimal silhouette, with no excess visual or physical bulk, with round contours instead of blocky ones. Speaking of design, the slide top Picatinny rail, thread protector, trigger’s inner curve, etc., are all serrated for glare-cutting or better grip.

You’ll find a nice pair of matte black sights at front and back. You get a holster-friendly ramped blade Patridge-style front sight. The gun has a durable steel 10-round single-stack magazine that a coil-spring instead of the Z-spring you might see in other magazines. Once every shot is expended, the slide stays locked open.

The racetrack oval alloy trigger guard has a matte black finish and finishes in an ergonomic undercut. The magazine release is just aft of the trigger guard. The trigger is also alloy, but it is gold-plated, which is a Browning signature along with the gold Buck Mark under the trigger guard. These are about the only two exceptions to the gun’s all matte black look.

Moving down, the Browning Ultragrip FX (UFX) grips look and feel great. They’ve got side finger recesses and nice rubber texturing overmolded on the underlying composite. Overmolding provides added comfort. Likewise, the grip itself ends high up and with a medium beavertail atop it giving great control while keeping a profile that’s for easy unholstering.

Browning includes a requisite thumb safety that’s on the gun’s left side at back aft of the slide release / slide stop. There’s also a clever mechanical magazine safety that prevents the gun from firing when there’s no magazine in the magwell.
