The Browning Citori CXS over and under shotgun lines up three models: the standard Citori CXS, Citori CXS with Adjustable Comb and Citori CXS Micro. The CXS series is optimized for sporting/skeet shooting. All are good looking, reliable and durable. Fit and finish is eye-catching, and the intersection of key components is nearly jewel-like.

The three CXS models are 12-gauge and 20-gauge. But you get a choice of lightweight 24”, 26”, 28” 30” and even 32” long barrels. Overall lengths are 40 3/4", 42 3/4", 45”, 47” and 49” respectively. Weight ranges from 6 pounds 7 ounces for the 24” Citori CXS Micro to 8 pounds 2 ounces for the 32” Citori CXS with Adjustable Comb.

Both the standard Citori CXS and Citori CXS with Adjustable Comb have a 14 3/4” length of pull, 1 3/4” drop at comb and 2 1/2” drop at heel. Barrel choices are 28”, 30” and 32” while overall lengths are 45”, 47” and 49” respectively. The standard Citori CXS has each barrel option in both 12-gauge and 20-gauge, while the Citori CXS with Adjustable Comb is 12-gauge only.

The three models are largely the same apart from the butt stock. The standard Citori CXS has a fixed stock backed by a large soft matte black rubber Inflex 2 recoil pad.

The Citori CXS with Adjustable Comb is remarkably similar except the eponymous adjustable height comb. This model is 12-gauge only and comes in 28”, 30” and 32” barrel variants.

The Citori CXS Micro has 12-gauge and 20-gauge configurations in both 24” and 26” barrel lengths making four variants total. The “Micro” moniker honors its shorter barrels and 13” length of pull (LOP). It has wonderful proportions. Overall length is 40.75” for the 24” models and 42.75” for the 26” models. Drop at comb is 1 5/8” while drop at heel is 2 1/2".

The CXS types get a chrome-plated chamber that’s anti-corrosion and more durable. They also have an ivory bead front sight, mid-bead and 18 LPI grip checkering in pennants. The receiver and barrel are both hewn from steel. The receiver is blued and unadorned but very nicely done. The almost flat grip base angles back.

All Browning Citori 12 and 20-gauge variants get back-bored technology, increasing the inside bore to reduce shot deformation and increased patterning. The CXS series comes standard with three extended Invector-Plus Midas interchangeable choke tubes, which are Full, Modified and Improved Cylinder (F, M, IC). They also feature VectorPro lengthening using forcing cones for improved shot pattern performance.

Citori CXS over and under shotguns have gloss Grade II black walnuts with elegant lines, automatic ejectors that eject fired hulls, three trigger positions, one gold-plated trigger shoe, inertia triggers that use the first shot’s recoil to reset the hammer for the second, and a locking bolt and hinge pin!

The CXS guns feature flat, floating 3/8-1/2" ribs bridged over the top barrel that are 50/50 POI.
