The Browning Citori CXT over and under shotgun lines up three models: the standard Citori CXT, Citori CXT with Adjustable Comb and Citori CXT Micro. With Adjustable LOP. The CXT series is optimized for trap shooting. All are good looking. All are reliable and durable. Fit and finish is wonderful, and the intersection of key components is lovely.

The three CXT models are 12-gauge. But you get a choice of lightweight 28” 30” and even 32” barrels. Overall lengths are 45”, 47” and 49” respectively.

Other than where noted, the three models are largely the same except the butt stock.

The standard Citori CXT has a fixed stock backed by a large soft matte black rubber Inflex 2 recoil pad in back. It has a 14 3/8” length of pull, 1 9/16” drop at comb and 2” drop at heel and is topped with a 3/8 - 1/2" vent rib. The 30” Citori CXT weighs 8 pounds 2 ounces and the 32” Citori CXT weighs two ounces more.

The Citori CXT with Adjustable Comb has the same measures but has an eponymous rising adjustable comb. It has a 1/4 - 3/8" vented rib. The 30” Citori CXT with Adjustable Comb weighs 8 pounds 10 ounces and the 32” barrel version weighs two ounces more.

The Citori CXT Micro with Adjustable LOP has an adjustable length-of-pull (LOP) that shortens to 13 1/4" and a more curved grip. It comes in 28” and 30” barrel lengths. It also has a 3/8 - 1/2" vented rib. The 28” barrel gun weighs 8 pounds 9 ounces while the 30” barrel weighs 8 pounds 11 ounces.

All CXT variants get a durable anti-corrosion chrome-plated chamber, an ivory bead front sight, mid-bead and 18 LPI grip checkering in pennants. The receiver and barrel are both steel hewn. The polished blued receiver is unadorned but very nicely done. The grip bottom is angled back but almost flat.

All Browning Citori 12 and 20-gauge variants including the ones here get back-bored technology, which increases the inside bore to reduce shot deformation and increased patterning. The CXT series comes standard with Full, Modified and Improved Modified (F, M, IM) extended Invector-Plus Midas interchangeable choke tubes. They also feature VectorPro lengthening using forcing cones for improved shot pattern performance.

The Citori CXT over and under shotguns feature high post ribs bridged over the top barrel that are 70/30 POI optimized for trap. These beauties have gloss Grade II black walnuts with elegant lines, automatic ejectors to eject fired hulls, three trigger positions, one gold-plated trigger shoe, inertia triggers that use the first shot’s recoil to reset the hammer for the second, and a locking bolt and hinge pin!
