The CZ-USA Redhead 12-gauge, 16-gauge, and 20-gauge over/under shotgun lineup is the flagship of the CZ over/under family. It comes in four lengths: the 24” barrel Redhead Premier Reduced Length, 26” and 28” barrel Redhead Premier and 30” barrel Redhead Premier Target.

CZ-USA imports a variety of over/under shotguns including the Drake, All Terrain, Reaper, Upland, Redhead, SCTP and Supreme. It’s a splendid-looking bunch. All CZ-USA over/under shotguns utilize CNC machined actions and nice-looking Turkish walnut.

The Redhead is nicely thought out and richly featured. There is a good chance it will have all the features you’ll want, appreciate and enjoy. For starters, the CZ Redhead comes in the three gauges: 12-gauge, 16-gauge, and 20-gauge. All are right-handed models. The 12-gauge and 20-gaug models have a 3” chamber while 16-gauge models have a 2 3/4" chamber. All Redheads use Turkish walnut and feature a silver satin receiver and gloss black chrome barrels.

The Redhead has some hand-engraving on the silver satin chrome receiver and laser-cut checkering on the forend and grip. The gun has a single-selectable trigger so you can decide which barrel to fire in which order. There’s also a mechanical safety.

The Redhead has a tapered forend (except where noted below) to make it snag-free. The various models feature five interchangeable chokes (F, IM, M, IC, C). The gun uses ejectors that will spring spent cartridges back when you break open the gun. The gun has mid-rib between the barrels. All have an 8mm flat vent rib.

It also comes in four lengths: 24” barrel, 26” barrel, 28” barrel and 30” barrels. The 24” barrel gun is called the CZ Redhead Premier Reduced Length. It is 20-gauge only. It has a 13” length-of-pull, 1 3/8” drop at comb, 2 1/8" drop at heel and a 40.75” overall length. Weight is 6.0 pounds.

The 26” and 28” barrel guns are simply called Redhead Premier. The 26” guns come in either 12-gauge or 20-gauge. LOP is 14 1/2”. The stock has a 1 3/8” drop at comb and a 2 1/4" drop at heel while overall length is 43.75”. Weight is 7.7 pounds for the 12-gauge and 6.7 pounds for the 20-gauge.

The 28” barrel guns can be had in 12, 16 and 20-gauge. Length is 45.75”. The stock has a 1 3/8” drop at comb and a 2 1/4" drop at heel. The 12-gauge is 7.9 pounds, the 16 is 8 pounds and the 20 is 6.9.

The 30” gun called the Redhead Premier Target. This competition over/under shotgun comes in 12-gauge and 20-gauge. The stock has a 1 1/2” drop at comb and a 2 1/2" drop at heel. The 12-gauge is 8 pounds while the 20-gauge is 7 pounds. Overall length is 48.25”. This pair differs also in their 10mm stepped rib, Monte Carlo stock, right-hand palm swell and full-target forend.

While you might assume CZ-USA’s over/under shotguns are made in the Czech Republic, they are in fact Made in Turkey.
