CZ-USA’s 612 series 4+1 shotguns have one model for 2021. That’s the 12-gauge CZ 612 Field. Before there were others such as the 12-gauge CZ 612 Target.

The CZ 612 Field is simply stunning in a way that belies its affordability. The barrel, vent rib and receiver are all blued. Their lines flow beautifully into one another. The tube magazine is mostly hidden in the beautiful Turkish walnut forend. Both the forend and American-style stock are oil-finished and grained. It’s also dark in a way that further integrates the large components. The stock is framed in back with a large thick black rubber recoil mitigating butt pad.

The gun has a 28” barrel. Its vent rib is flat with an 8mm width. Drop at comb is 1 9/16” and drop at heel is 2 ½”. Overall length is 49” and weigh tips scales at 6.2 pounds.

The forend stands out with its nicely sculpted curves. Then there is the gold-plated trigger in its upturned racetrack oval trigger guard and a crossbolt safety in the guard’s forward prow. There is also what you can’t see. The gun uses dual action bars. The trigger system is factory tuned. The receiver is aircraft alloy making it strong, sturdy and light.

The similar 4+1 CZ 612 Target 12-gauge shoots 2 ¾ and 3-inch shells, comes with three extended knurled chokes (F, M, C), has a 32” barrel has white bead sights and a 52 ½” overall length! Length of pull is 14 ½” and overall weight is 7.3 pounds. Drop at comb is 1.625” while drop at heel is 2.25”. The Target is bathed with a deep polished blue finish for the metal parts and the select grade walnut gets a resplendent glossy oil finish. It also gets the factory-tuned trigger and raised rib.

The Monte Carlo stock is sculpted with a large cheek riser and an almost vertical waterfall along the pistol grip. It’s framed in back with a large thick black rubber recoil mitigating buttpad. The stock is further adjustable with the included stock shims.
