Collectible Knives for Sale – Buy Collectible Knives Online

Knives, especially pocket knives, are often classified as collectible items. And at GunBroker.com, our collectible knife selection pretty well-stocked with neat knives from collectors like you. These collectible knives aren’t always used; sometimes they’re just for show! If the collectible knives are used, it’s usually because they’re pocket knives, which are one of the most common types. Some collectible knives were created to commemorate some event while others are simply hand-crafted with exquisite attention to detail. Be sure to check out swords, daggers and hunting knives while you're here too.

Aside from the pocket knife, there are other types of collectible knives that are fairly common here:

Bayonet Style Collectible Knives

Bayonets aren’t your typical knife. Originally, bayonets were used as a spear or dagger for hunting. Later, they were adopted into gun culture and were used on rifles and muskets during war. The bayonet attaches to the end of the gun barrel and is used to stab the opponent, usually within war or while hunting a large animal. Within the past hundred years, using a bayonet during war is somewhat frowned upon, and is only put into action if absolutely necessary. Most people who collect rifles or muskets also collect bayonets, partially because bayonets come with a lot of antique firearms.

Bowie Style Collectible Knives

A Bowie knife is considered to be a fighting knife. This knife was adapted in the 1800s and has influences from early European cultures. Bowie knives have a wide blade and are used for skinning or butchering. Many hunters are collectors of the Bowie knife and use their knives for this practice.

Antique Collectible Knives

Just like many people like to collect antique firearms, people also like to collect antique knives! Usually, these knives are from over 100 years ago. Many popular knives belong to the World War II era, but there are many that belong to years prior to that.

(Not to be confused: collectibles and antiques are different. Both are used for collections, but usually collectibles are fairly new knives that have significance or are artistically handcrafted. Those collecting antique knives are collecting for the sole purpose of the knives’ vintage quality and age.)

If you’re looking to start a knife collection, or if you’re looking to add on to your collection, take a look at our products.
