Connecticut Valley Arm’s 3+1/4+1 CASCADE is its first ever bolt-action centerfire rifle. Thanks to vertical integration and other efficiencies learned from decades of production experience, it’s very affordable yet still high-quality and accurate. The CASCADE comes in .243 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08, .308 Win, .450 Bushmaster, .350 Legend, .22-250 Varmint, 6.5 PRC, 7mm Rem Mag and .300 Win Mag calibers. There is also the new for 2021 CASCADE Short Barrel (SB) series is optimized for tight quarter usage, which we’ll cover in a second.
The CASCADE’s centerpiece is a strong, durable 22” long 4140 carbon steel barrel fronted by a brake or suppressor-ready 5/8x24 TPI threaded muzzle. You can get the barrel either in Cerakote flat dark earth (FDE) or matte blued.
The receiver features a 70-degree throw bolt for a quick and easy breech lock while providing ample clearance for gloved usage with scopes. In back, you have a two-position safety that’s exactly where you’d want it to be. The top is compatible with all Savage 110 AccuTrigger model two-piece scope bases and CVA’s 20 MOA one-piece base as well.
Underneath, you get a detachable box mag that slams flush into the receiver.
A standout component designed and made in-house is CVA’s fiberglass reinforced synthetic stock. It gets an all-weather grip enhancing SoftTouch finish. The stock comes in either Veil Wideland gray-palette camouflage or elegant charcoal gray. The CASCADE stock features a trio of swivel studs including two in front allowing affixing a bipod concurrently with a sling.
Overall length is adjustable thanks to a removable length of pull spacer between the stock and the thick black recoil mitigating buttpad. This makes it compatible with smaller shooters and with thick winter clothing.
The CASCADE Short Barrel (SB) features a 4140-carbon steel 18” length threaded barrel for .308 Win and 6.5 Creedmore. There is an even shorter 16.5” barrel for 300 Blackout. The color scheme is a bit different as it pairs Graphite Black Cerakote on the primary metal components with Veil Tac Black camouflage for the stock.
