The little matte Diamondback 380 is a striker-fired 6+1 capacity .380 ACP semi-automatic pistol. This snag-free double-action only (DAO) micro-marvel weighs just 8.8 ounces, so barely half a pound. It strikes a tentative balance between conceal carry dimensions, affordability and functionality.

Overall dimensions of something this feathery are, no surprise, small. The barrel is 2.0” long. Height is 3.75”, width is only .75” and length is 5.26”. Within its attractive frame is a single-stack 6-round magazine with counting holes.

Color choices are plentiful. The standard gun is all matte black. You can also get the black frame with a brushed stainless slide or a stainless slide. Or you can get the black slide with various frame color choices including FDE, marbleized Muddy Girl camo, pink, midnight bronze (which almost looks purple), olive drab green, etc.

Beyond this, the standout model is the DB380VL that features a Viridian red dot laser under the muzzle.

Though the stainless-steel slide isn’t long, Diamondback has still graced it with forward-facing slide serrations at front and back. The 380 is so thin in part because it lacks a thumb safety, but it does have a firing pin block. The beavertail is almost docked, but it’s still there and big enough to help manage recoil.

The trigger guard is almost squared with horizontal serrations along the vertical front face and a slight undercut at the guard’s back. Inside, the trigger has a short reset.

The 380 has Glock-compatible 3-dot sights that have a 4.51” sight radius in between them. The grip is no frills but has a nicely textured quasi-scalar pattern.
