Big Boy is the marketing name of Henry’s H006 series of lever-action repeating rifles. Like the Golden Boy and others, it’s a lovely piece of work. Here we’ll address the limited-edition Big Boy Deluxe. It is bigger than the Golden Boy and chambered for .357 Magnum/.38 Special, .44 Magnum/.44 S&W Special and .45 COLT.

All three Big Boy Deluxe versions feature a blued barrel, a resplendent high polished hardened brass receiver and cover, and beautifully varnished wooden American walnut forestock and buttstock. The trim parts like the trigger and action lever are blued while others such as the barrel band and butt plate are brass. The receiver flanks and barrel band are engraved with beautiful flourishes and scrolls.

All three have thick 20” long barrels, 14” length of pulls, 38.5” overall lengths, 10-round tubular magazines and tip the scales at 8.68 pounds.

All three models are the same except as follows. The .44 Magnum/.44 S&W Special has a 1:16 twist ratio while the two others are 1:20. Each has a production run that’s limited to 1,000.

Big Boy Deluxe’s fashion is old school Wild West, but it functions with the slick reliable operability and smooth action of modern technology. The gun’s heritage looks are due to parts like the dovetailed brass bead front sight, the adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight and long under-barrel tubular magazines. The rear sight has a diamond opening and is dovetailed into the upper barrel. It can be tapped left or right for windage adjustments, and elevation can be adjusted by moving the appropriately named elevator using a flat-head screwdriver.

The Big Boys are drilled and tapped for scopes and have a BB-RSM scope mount. They have a hammer safety and a transfer safety.
