Kratos is the Greek word for power. Or strength. And the carbon fiber bolt-action Howa Carbon Kratos has both. Unlike many Howa rifles, it comes in just one caliber: 6.5 Creedmore. It has only one primary configuration: 24” heavy carbon fiber barrel. This carbon fiber barrel also includes high-tensile strength Kevlar and fiberglass in the mix. The barrel is threaded and comes with a thread cap. Overall length is 43” and weight is 7.8 pounds thanks in large part to its lightweight stock and barrel.

The stock has an aluminum bed for accurate bedding. It also has several surfacing options: HS Precision Gray, olive drab green, the reptilian scalar gray/tan/green Kratos scheme, the green/tan/black tone KUIU verde 2.0 and KUIU Vias 2.0, which has earth tones.

Some Howa Carbon Kratos rifles have the optional Nikko Stirling Diamond FFP (first focal plane) 4-16x44 30mm aluminum scope. This affordable turret adjusted scope bridges the ejector area. The scope is nitrogen-filled to prevent fogging. It’s also waterproof, shockproof, 13.4” long and weighs 21.9 ounces. It has high-quality glass etched reticle skeleton HMD (half mil dot NATO markings).

All this sophistication combines to give the Howa its sub-MOA rating, meaning that given factory or premium ammunition, it can shoot a group of three rounds within an inch at up to 100 yards.
