From certain angles, the Korth Ranger revolver embraces Wild West steampunk looks. From others, it looks like it’s for use in an ultra-modern German car. In truth, the neo-retro 6 shot .357 Magnum is a jewel-like piece of work that’s made by Korth Waffen in Lollar, Hesse, Germany with some American flair added in for good measure.
The Korth Ranger is impressive, imposing, big and heavy. Key dimensions are a 4” long barrel, a total length of 8.86”, height of 6.1” and width is 1.54”. Weight is 2.42 pounds, or about 39 ounces.
Atop the revolver is something unusual: a six tie Picatinny accessory rail. Yes, on this revolver, you can mount all kinds of goodies. The front sight can be changed quickly while the rear sight is adjustable for windage and height.
The precision match barrel is cold forged and DLC finished, meaning diamond-like coated, making it very durable and resilient for wear and corrosion. It’s fronted by a target crown, and it’s enshrouded in a black lightened barrel housing that has eight diagonal oval ports on either side. The effect is high-tech and very upscale, befitting its price.
The trigger is double action and single action, and the gun is fired using a high-speed hammer. The Jim Wilson grip is beautiful, very elegant and made of walnut.
Finally the Korth Ranger has two optional cylinders: one for 9 mm Luger and the other one is .38 Special.
