The M380 subcompact is a seven round, striker-fired, double-action only semi-automatic pistol made by Magnum Research Incorporated (MRI) up north in Pillager, Minnesota. And let’s start by saying that with its gold trigger, gold slide release, gold magazine release, completely faceted slide front, trio of oval lightening ports, and latticework slide grip pattern, wow, it is striking!

The stainless steel slide has a black DLC (diamond-like coating) finish for extra wear protection and increased durability. Atop the slide sit 3-dot polymer combat sights. The pinned front white dot sight is fixed while the two dot rear sight is drift adjustable.

The gun comes in two versions: .380 ACP and .380 Auto and comes with two seven round magazines. For safety, the gun features a Browning type recoil lug, a locked breech and a passive striker block.

The frame is black polymer. Continuing the theme of eye-popping styling coupled with exacting functionality, stippled grips that go up to the slide and grip serrations at both front and back.

The barrel is 3” long and has a 1 to 16” twist ratio, total length is 5.5” and weight comes in at a feathery 11.44 ounces (.715 pounds).

The M380 has been designed for concealed carry. So there is no beavertail and the trigger guard is curved with no finger rest. The slide release and magazine release are all exactly where you’d want them for simple one hand operation. The result is a Made in America semi-automatic that can quickly be brought into action.
