Masterpiece Arms 6.5 BA Creedmore bolt action rifle is an impressively skeletonized and innovative long-range rifle. The gun’s skeleton is its single beautifully finished Masterpiece Arms (MPA) Tactical Aluminum Chassis. MPA makes most components in-house, making it a true manufacturer rather than simply a gun assembler.

The MPA Tactical Aluminum chassis is made of 6061 aluminum, making it both ultra-strong and simultaneously lightweight. The skeletonizing gives it a unique look. But there is also unique functionality. For instance, a built-in inclinometer indicates tilt and has a white background to make it visible to one’s peripheral vision.

At the top back of the chassis is the bolt release and the safety. The bolt itself is a Remington 700 Type by Curtis Custom Axion. This 60-degree throw three-lug spiral fluted bolt action is slick and perfectly milled. The DLC finished bolt knob is oversized and has a stacked double-ring design with a texturized periphery for excellent tactile feedback.

There are two Picatinny rail sections atop the gun. One is part of the MPA Night Vision Bridge. This component bridges over the barrel and attaches on both sides to the forend below. Integrated atop the receiver is the second Picatinny rail.

The barrel is a Spencer/MPA barrel made of 416RQ stainless steel that’s hand-lapped for increased precision. Fronting the muzzle is a four-chamber MPA Premium muzzle break. The chambers have a gentle diagonal lean.

The chassis forend has a Rapid Adjustment Technology (RAT) System Compatible dovetail ventral accessory rail for bipods, etc. that runs the entire length of the chassis forend to the magwell.

The black texturized pistol grip is also unusual. It juts behind the trigger guard, curves to provide a palmswell and then drops into a vertical ovoid cylinder. There is a nice thumb rest where the grip meets the chassis.

The trigger is a Trigger Tech Special. Trigger pull is remarkable and rated at 1 to 3 pounds!

The cheek riser knob rolls easily and makes a nice détente clicking sound as it moves. The riser positions are actually numbered! The buttpad is adjustable for height and cant. At the bottom is room for an optional monopod that practically integrates into the stock. Just pull it back and lock it into place to use it, fold it forward up to the buttstock again to stow. The monopod is even height adjustable. Remarkable.

There are plenty of options: right-hand or left-hand, black barrel or polished barrel, folding or non-folding stock, and eight different chassis color finishes. The chassis colors currently available are black, burnt bronze, flat dark earth, gunmetal, marine red, NRA blue, sniper green and tungsten.

The 6.5 BA Creedmore comes standard with a 10-round AICS compatible magazine. Masterpiece Arms is based in Comer, Georgia, and these guns are Made in USA.
